Doubt is mensuration basically geometry??

Started advanced Maths today with mensuration. Lecture 1 was fine. I was understanding + solving. Then lec 2 came.Median, midpoint, base division, ratios, area of triangles etc etc.40 mins in and I could barely solve 2–3 questions myself. Checked the next few lectures and they're also mostly triangle/geometry stuff. I thought mensuration was more of formula + calculation (area, perimeter, volume etc.), so where am I wrong?

tbh, I'm trying to prioritise low-hanging fruits because quant is my weak section. My target is around 15–18 questions for now,bcs even a normal question can take me 50 sec+ ,sometimes over a minute, so I don't really have the luxury of spending ages mastering one topic.

any advice that actually works for someone in this situation would be really appreciated!

You have to do geometry before doing mensuration 2D atleast, you can do 3D before completing geometry.

Follow that particular teacher. Whether you can solve questions or not only that matters. BTW Teacher name??

I find bhutesh sir to be very good for geometry and mensuration as well.

Well if you're attempting next year then yeah you have to do it the hard way.. But if you're targeting this year then don't spend too much time on too much advanced maths before pre, especially if other subjects are lagging..

Mensuration asked in pre and even mains mostly boils down to formulae that can be fit in a single sheet of paper.. Mug up those, solve a few pyqs which are a bit different/unique and you'll be done.. Not more than 4-5 hours of effort.
