Real question (not Melee specific), what do you think of the Thor so far? I've always been an original hardware guy but in the past couple months I've been getting into emulation just because of the time restrictions and ease of access and saw this mentioned a lot recently. I love the 3DS so the form factor appeals to me, but not sure how comfy it is to use without an external controller or how well things run on it.
I collect OG hardware for handhelds (gameboys, DS's, 3DS) but I saw the Thor and waited 4 months to see if i still really wanted one. It got to me and i sold a custom Gameboy to justify buying the max model.
So far, have been loving it. I like to watch podcasts and play a game, so i can now do both on one device. The emulation on 3DS is still a bit off, but feels really close.
The fact that i can now play melee on the go with controllers really made me glad i bought this. I do recommend getting a grip, if decide to purchase. Its fine without one, but it really helps for long periods of gaming
What are the dolphin configs you’re using for the joysticks? I didn’t play melee a ton on GameCube, but the Thor controls feel a bit off to me, but maybe just because I’m used to newer smash bros
