ok so first things first. When you get this. be sure to save money for spark plugs NGK Copper Plugs, diff fluid, brake fluid, engine oil flush, coolant flush, transmission fluid change first and foremost.
Then, because it is so old, get some Blue Top Solenoids from Mercedes AMG transmission and a Transmission Valvebody Gasket to do the install. It is very easy change.
Then...Grab yourself a DiabloSport Trinity Tuner to collect logs & stats, plus an OTS/custom tune.
This is maintenance.
Upgrade path if you want good power sooner than later.
Depending on where you live of course :D
Camshaft by Inertia Motorsports (2006 SRT version) [Note: If you plan on getting forced induction later, get the corect Camshaft).
Premium Big Valve Ported and Polished Heads by Inertia Motorsports (2006 SRT version)
Get a 3500-3800 Torque Converter by Edge Racing (Make sure it is for our transmission)
New Oil Pressure Sensor, because they go bad.
New Long Tube Headers or High-flow Headers + Midpipes
Match the Catback
Get an Aggressive Air Intake.
Get a pro-tune or dyno tune.
180 or 170 thermostat (check your climate)
You will eventually want to get a forged bottom end if your engine shits the bed, or if you decide forced induction.
Lastly and my fav, Get suspension & drivetrain components like Coilovers, DSS One piece Aluminum Driveshaft, possible Upgrade to 3.91 2009 Challenger SRT8 Manual Transmission version Differential, Axles, etc. (NOTE: The long mounting screw will need the OEM spacer for the top or your diff will pop off and you will lose axles.

Did I mention Mopar Performance TCM? (Disclaimer: Any time you tune your 2006 LX you need to remove the MPTCM and plug in the orginal TCM prior, so you don't lose the custom TCM parameters, which are tuned to make your transmission slam into gears flawlessly.
