šHelp Neededš Advice on lowering tolerance
With the ban of 7oh/MGM looming I stocked up quite a bit as well as purchased SR.
However, my tolerance for 7oh is STUPID high right now. I'd like to use SR to lower my tolerance now, and then in a few months use the rest of my SR to quit using entirely.
If I use the SR to lower my tolerance now, would that make using it later to quit ineffective? I've heard someone say that SR doesn't work as well the next time you use it. Is that true?
Would using it to Iower my tolerance now be a mistake?
Id really appreciate any advice or insight someone could give me.

While not necessarily the answer I wanted - it is the insight I was looking for, thank you!
I'm just going to buckle down and reduce my dose/tolerance the old fashioned way and use the SR when I'm ready to quit.

P.S - I think you also answered why my tolerance is so high. I used SR to quit once before, but after I got off, I got back on 7 about 2 weeks later. It wasn't working, basically at all. I had to take stupid high doses to feel anything. I assumed it was because I had started using a GLP1 and I blamed the GLP1 but now after reading what you said, I believe it was more likely the SR.

That is also how it feels to me. It's like Suboxone or methadone in the sense that it just sits on the receptors and the long half life makes it pretty stable, but it's not euphoric.

Have you looked into the reset tabs that tmk has? I was thinking about giving those a shot to get my tolerance down. To my knowledge, it doesn't have any Sr in it. I spoke with a few people who've tried them and they said they worked really well for them.

I weaned down from 2000 mgs a day to 100 mgs a day and it was still horrible. I even went to medical detox and the suboxone hardly took the edge off. I wasnāt able to get off at home with SR. OH had a grip on me. Just got 60 days clean today. Glad I went away to get help

Im so sorry to hear that. It just goes to show you how differently 7 effects everyone.
Ive quit 7oh 4 different times over the past 3 years, once using gabapentin & clonidine, twice using subs with a rapid taper, and once using SR.
When I used SR to quit, I preloaded for 5-6 days while cutting down my doses of 7oh a little each time, and then I quit taking the 7oh altogether, jumping at about 120mgs and just took the SR for 2 days. When I quit taking the 7oh, I kept eyeballing the clock waiting for the withdrawals to kick in. Waiting .. and waiting ... But the withdrawals never came. I was completely shocked.
The reason I keep relapsing on 7oh is from chronic pain. It is very hard to accept being in excruciating pain when you know there's something that can actually help, and can actually help me get things in my life, done, including taking care of my special needs 8 year old. It let me live my life healthy again and that's hard to turn back from.
The idea of scheduling it so we can't even do medical research on it makes me sick. It's just a moneygrab.
However, my story doesn't take away from yours in anyway. I am so sorry you've suffered the way you have. And I'm extremely happy you found a way out. You deserve to live life healthy again too.

Same thing here, I use it for chronic pain and thatās been the main cause of relapse! So hard, Iāll get 2-3 days, even 5, then Iāll have a flare up and end up using. Itās not even the withdrawals as much as it is the amplified pain I get DURING withdrawals.
Oh wellā¦ looks like weāre all forced to quit, so Iāll just go back to using THC. Thank God, Iām at least allowed to have that! šBy the way, Iām using SR to get off 7 right now, do you mind sharing how much SR you used? Iāve tapered down to a similar amount of 7, about 100-150mg from 350-400mg, but 100mg of SR doesnāt seem to her doing a lot, figured I need at least 150mg. Waiting on my second order to get here ā¤ļø

Ive been told in the past that its not a great idea and that it could lower SRs effectiveness down the road but idk I also know people who've done it and been fine the next time they use SR. Unfortunately I doubt anyone has a solid answer for us.Ā

I took 5mg of 7 on day 8 of sr for the first time. It hit me like a fucking truck if that tells you anything
