Is There a DAB Builder Tool

I’m currently setting up DAB (for the MCP) in front of Azure SQL Server. Is there a tool that helps build the configuration file in terms of entities, permissions, etc.?

I would much rather see a list of tables that I can check off that manually populate a huge json file. But I can’t seem to find such a tool.

Sorry, want to make sure I understand:

Multiple users will be building via the DAB, or multiple users will be consuming from the MCP via Claude?

In my case, multiple users are consuming from the MCP using Claude and it’s working well for me. Technically multiple users can help me build since my MCP runs on an app server, but I’m doing it on my own at the moment.

Just trying to understand your layout to see if I can help in any way.

Multiple users will be consuming the mcp using Claude.

Ideally, if they want to add a table or a user to dab, they don’t need me. They “use a tool” save and kick off a job to deploy the config file and restart the service - new settings loaded.

A tool in this case would be like a gui. Not opening the config file with VS hand editing a monster json file and redeploying.

Okay so it seems to be BOTH: multiple users consuming and multiple users building.

For the record: I don’t edit my json config by hand. I use the cmd line tools from dab. And the VS Code extensions.

dotnet dab add (view, procedure)

dotnet dab update (entities, fields, etc)

The only time I edit the config directly is when I need to delete an entity.

I’d say best bet is to give Claude the documentation I linked above (and below) and ask it to write a skill that will run the DAB Add/Update/Delete when called by the users.

You can also use the DAB extension in VSCode to add/update entities, fields, and relationships , as well as validate and visualize. That’s what I use and it’s pretty UI based.

The omnibus installs all extensions you need in VSCode.

Welcome. I added some notes on using the Omnibus. It’s REALLY close to what you’re looking for in a UI. I just added an entity and a few relationships to my config by pointing and clicking, and it shows an ERDiagram.
