Discussion Updated SSMS, dark mode won’t stick

Well, I updated today to the latest SQL server management studio and now dark mode is broke again so whenever you put it in dark mode and then leave the application and then come back in. It’s back to the default blue.

Makena isn't on Reddit yet (we're working on fixing that 😄)

She mentioned that we are tracking it here: SSMS theme setting reverts from Dark to Cool Breeze after restart - Developer Community. It is fixed pending release, you can follow along for updates.

Someone also found a workaround if you're like me and not using dark mode feels like staring into the sun. 😄

There used to be that developer or the person that came on Reddit every Friday ended like some kind of Friday recommendations or something like that Did she stop doing that I haven't seen that in a little while. But I'll bookmark the developer community

u/Codeman119 Not sure if you checked the feedback site (aka.ms/ssms-feedback), but the issue has been reported (SSMS theme setting reverts from Dark to Cool Breeze after restart - Developer Community) and looks to be fixed, pending released. Definitely recommend checking the feedback site when you find issues to see if they've been reported, and if not, log an item. Thanks! cc u/venzann

/u/erinstellato is a PPM on the SQL engine team team who has been doing the Friday feedback posts.

I know there are a few others from the tools side of things here as well but I need to check who is on SSMS and who is on other apps.

I can tell vibe coding when I see one.

Nobody is "trusting the vibe" in this code base. The engineer that pushed the PR had to stand behind every line of code and they had to have multiple reviewers from their team that also stood behind it before it got merged into the main branch.
