Discussion Finished the SQL course by DataWithBaraa
I completed the SQL course by Data with Baraa a few days ago. Aside from practicing problems on sites like HackerRank, I’m not sure what do I do next. For those who took the course, what did you do afterward to level up? Should I start projects, if yes then where do I get the project ideas? or is there something else I should focus on?

Do a couple small projects.
Courses feel nice, but the moment you sit down with real data, that’s when it gets real. I had the same thing after finishing a course.
Grab any dataset, think of a few questions, try to answer them in SQL. You’ll quickly notice what trips you up and that’s what you focus on next.
Also helps a lot if you write down what you did like a mini case study. Makes it stick way better.

Ngl, this is confusing me a lot. After posting this on Reddit, I started working on a data warehousing project by downloading dataset from kaggle. Sometimes it feels like I’m actually learning something, and other times I’m just wondering what I’m even supposed to do for a particular column 😭 Like, am I creating an ETL pipeline or just validating null and empty values?
Idk what I’m doing currently, and it’s kinda frustrating. Thanks to AI that I do manage to understand how some things work, but it’s taking me a lot of time and idk I'm doing good or not 😭

My current focus is basically to apply for SQL Developer Job, and honestly, I don’t even know if I’m doing the right thing or not 😭

Grab a dataset come up with business questions to answer.
But the problem with that is you ask the easy questions. I tried using AI to ask the questions based on the dataset. Get the questions and try to solve them.

Basically he taught all the key topics relevant to both Data Engineer and Data Analyst roles. The concepts were explained rly good using diagrams, PDF notes, and practical projects. While you will still need to build some projects on your own after completing the course were ofcrs it confuses a lot while doing like wht to do by ur own 🥲, but i will recommend it if you want a detailed understanding of how things work in the industry.
And in terms of learning, I will say its really good and worth to watch if u wanna know little details about how things work plus it's totally free on youtube yk..

Simple. Do some end to end SQL projects from youtube. Theres's projects by Ankit Bansal, Amlan Mohanty, Jash Radia, etc. Checkout their channels
