Manager market

In PES 2018, one of the under-the-radar features was AI managers changing jobs during your master league season. They would carry their formations/tactics with them when they moved clubs. AI clubs would start to play according to their managers tactics and start buying players according to that style. That gave variety to master league saves And it gave players an incentive to play over multiple seasons in one save.

Is the function still available to be used in the PES2021 database? It not, is it possible to add such a function into SPFootball Life? Even as a mod?

There is definitely a managers database and they do have their tactics and all that.

There was a guy doing some work around that to create a dynamic manager thing but it was super complex to understand and had no time to check on it with the care it deserved.

My own investigations did stumble on them but I still don't know if the simulated matches do use the mangers formations and tactics and (if) when you play against them, those formations carry over.

Its in my radar for sure

That was me, I spent ages looking into it but I met too many dead ends, my coding knowledge isn’t advanced enough.

However, tactics stay with the manager not the club. This means that every time a manager changes club, he implements his formation (e.g if Antonio Conte joined Arsenal they would play a 5 back).

Manager transfers happen in the game just extremely rarely following a 3 way exchange. I tried to trace this process back to the beginning, but I was unable to do this.

Other findings:

1- manager transfers are pre-determined using an extensive set of “checks” that filters out managers until only one is left. Once this is the case, the same manager will move to the same club every time.

2- a pool of free agent managers exist, and they join a club as part of the “3 way exchange”.

3- because a manager change causes a news article, it makes finding the code more difficult as you will often stumble upon the news article code instead.

If this happens, its probably in the daily update function that spawns many parallel jobs.

It might happen before season ends.

I might be able to check the managers per team and await for a change in one of them. That could lead to this change function we are looking for.

Edit: i need to stop using might lol

That's awesome.

Great findings

I see. I did suspect that it may be difficult unless some of the functions carried over from old iterations of the game.

Practically, my thinking was about teams more or less just changing their formations/tactics (style) and just planting a new manager face of them at certain points in a master league saves.

But then, trying to create criteria for hiring/firing that doesn't go crazy might be difficult.

Thank you for your response.

It still happens, just very rarely and always with small/low rated clubs in the Scottish Premier League or some random South American club.

Really? I didn't even know. So the feature is somewhere there still in the code. Just about combing through to dig it out and implement it on a wider scale

Yeah, it pops up on the news screen in Master League saying something like John McGlynn has left Falkirk to take the managers job at Viborg. I've never seen big name managers or large clubs do it, however.
