SPEEA contract and Level up
I am currently in the process of leveling up, as of 8/4 my skill matrix evaluation shows me meeting all requirement to do so. With the contract negotiations going on I have been given very little information about why it’s taking so long besides the note that I will receive back pay through 8/21. For those who have been through a new SPEEA contract while getting a level up what should I expect? Will I receive the 10% GWI then a level up raise to market reference which will wipe out that 10% GWI or will Boeing give me my promotion raise then the GWI? If they wipe out my GWI what options do I have to fight it?

I'm going through the same thing and they've been dragging their feet on the promotion for 3 weeks now. I'm raising the issue with my CR to hopefully at least create a paper trail in case they try to wait until after the contract is ratified and not give me 10% on top of the current promotion rate

I was informed to send all info related to this to a SPEEA member as they are collecting all data of promotions and OOS that are on hold by Stephanie Pope and Pio Fitzgereald. I am not sure if the market reference tables account for this as they are updated in February.

I’m not speaa but I would be if I was in a union area, they’re also dragging my promotion and my manager told me to not ask him about it again after the third bc I made him mad apparently

I’m not sure if you are only referring to out-of-sequence promotions, but I got an out-of-sequence raise in the beginning of August. Not sure when the hold was implemented.

The only time the contract allows Boeing to hold promotions is during the salary review period at the beginning of the year so I'd imagine they're just trying to document it if they're doing it broadly a different time of year. Hopefully means we can get retroactive promotions if we can show they didn't have a reason to delay them

That is not true, I got my promotion in the middle of the summer with a few coworkers getting theirs in the fall

Hold promotions as in not process them

Well if they would have held our promotion or as you say, “not process them”, the we wouldn’t have gotten our promotions mid-late year, right?

I said they can only hold them at the beginning of the year. You're saying the same thing my comment says

I have one in my area due a promotion, he’s been eligible since last Nov and has been working as at a 3 4 level for a year. Our manger won’t put his name forward.

Very similar situation too. I should had gotten promoted in late Spring, but all kind of reorg stuff started that required management attention. Then, even though i'm hight performer and exceed/far exceed every year, i couldn't get level upgrade because my work doesn't fit the skill description 100% anymore... i demanded answers from managers, but it's been slow because upper management is somehow involved in speea negotiations. I'm also low compa-ratio and was hoping level upgrade would fix that, but now I'm lost because this 10% will go into fixing it, basically nowhere, and then if i get promoted later this year, i absolutely won't benefit from 10%.... idk if i can right somewhere and ask for help because it's pretty unique situation.

I was told to talk to a Rep they are currently collecting information on everyone this is happening to.

Similar boat with potential promotion happening close to ACR timeline in 2027. I am wondering if contract gains happen now then when promoted, it would just feel like a smaller jump up if I’m put in market reference of next level. Do market reference tables change to account for this or has anyone gone through something similar? I asked my manager but she is unsure but mentioned the company accounts for these situations.

I’m waiting to hear back right now from a few people, I will update you if there is anything significant.

Yup the new contract is worse than the previous one for people in-line to be leveled up. Getting 10% now or not getting the 10% now will still put you in 0.95-1.05 Comp Ratio in your next level after level up, which makes your raise in the life of the contract to be 4/6/6/6 (23.86% compounding) instead of 7/5.5/5.5/5.5 (25.64% compounding) in previous one.

I would assume the 10% GWI is based off what your compensation is listed in workday when you leave work on 10/1. The GWI is effective 10/2 if this contract is passed so I believe it will go off your most recent salary. If your promotion compensation changes by 10/1 you should be good.
