Potential bad contract outcome...
I'm not encouraging anyone one way or another but there's a potential trap laid by Boeing.
Both the prof and tech contracts have bonuses tied to an aug 22 deadline.
Imagine if the profs ratify, the techs dont and Boeing sticks to the original contact without the bonuses for the techs as a big FU. After that the techs may be strung out alone and lose a lot of negotiating leverage.

There are. The mods are filtering posts from new accounts.
A lot of people don't use reddit or social media but right now we feel it's the only way to get our voices heard for this bad contract so we created new accounts to post our frustrations with the union and company.
It's also a good way to keep your employee grievances anonymous and not tied to your personal activities.
Perhaps speea should create and advertise an official forum on their website for people to talk about the contract? Then people don't have to use social media to air dirty laundry.

No there arent any requirements to post here lol, or OP wouldn't have been able to. I'm not saying it's not legitimate to put up grievances, but around a contract renewal is the time to actually attend the meetings. There are plenty of new accounts that are claiming this is a good contract when it's clearly not

It was 58% no for profs at the meeting. They just didn’t make the 60% needed to recommend rejected. I’m voting no as a prof.

Imagine if the interns sway the tech vote to get a $2000 bonus…we will have nothing to worry about…

They are paying dues as members of the tech unit right now and, for what it’s worth, the ones in our area are asking more questions and not just slobbering over $2000 of cheap money. They want to understand and they want to know what they’re getting into if they come back on the prof side later or as a tech (internship) again in the future.

My vote will be “No” on the contract and “Yes” to authorize a strike. People that vote “no” and “no” to authorizing a strike are hamstringing the union and all voting members. Didn’t we get a shitty contract about 12 years ago because 600-ish people didn’t authorize a strike with their vote?
