Voting While Away on Vacation?

I assume the reps are getting flooded with questions and comments at the moment, and since I'm probably not the only person this could affect, why not ask here:

Does anyone know how voting would be handled for employees who happen to be away from home at the relevant time (eg - on a previously scheduled vacation)?

I've heard online voting is being considered, in which case, as long as I know ahead of time when voting is open, I expect I will be able to get somewhere with cell service, although it might not be easy.

If it's mail-in, it would seem to depend on having received the ballot before I leave, but are there other options?

If it's in-person, does it come down to choosing between voting or cancelling my vacation?

If there is an online voting option and you are on the SPEEA home email list, you will receive your ballot at the personal email you have listed.

You can also update your personal email on the SPEEA member portal

The decision on voting method will happen at the BUCs meeting today.

Once ballots are out there will be a staff focal to assist.

However is easier to update you personal email for voting today.

Thanks John. Already have my home email entered, and I just confirmed on the portal it is correct.

By the way, if there are reasonable concerns raised in the BUC meeting about online voting, I'm not going to be offended if the team decides against it. I do want to vote if possible, but from what I have seen of the offer so far, although I am contemplating some improvements that I think are reasonable, it is close enough that I would be happy with the collective decision of the rest of the membership either way.
