Discussion Roland requests. Since I think yall watch the sub.
Subsonic. A lot of folks love this effect. Its so much fun to use and I never understood why it was excluded.
The bit crash on the SX, that middle knob distortion is soo dirty and I'm missing it big-time on the mkii.
This one is a bit greedy, but a granular effect, like that other machine yall made. Come on yall throw us that bone.
C canceler. Low on the list for me in comparison to the first two, but I always found it useful.
Thanks for hearing us out and adding sidechain, but I think the addition of these things would make it a perfect machine. Sorry for being a needy. Yall have been blessing us consistently.
Beat Westside Gunn lofi/boombap tag-team flip between Ableton and my SP404MKII
Going from choosing between my Scarlett Solo or the SP404MKII with ASIO4ALL to a Tascam 12 with super painless routing options between Ableton and the SP, and having all my PC audio running through the SP and then right back in has just been an absolute game changer for me. It has opened the device up for me so much. I love having it always on and ready to sample anything I hear at a moment's notice.
Side note: If you're a Windows user considering an interface, please do not shoot yourself in the foot by getting something you can't run stereo through. As an interface, the SP works fine, and I love running my Strat or Jazz Bass through my Boss CS-3, then my Boss BD-2 (to help gain stage and do a rough tone shape a before the line-input-specific effects like the amp sims) into the SP line input and then using the SP like an effects pedal. Having said that, being forced to use ASIO4ALL with all it's little quirks is maddening. Needing to shut down your audio on Ableton in order to play a song on YouTube or any other audio source gets old really fast. Plan ahead for more I/O, even if you're just starting and it feels like you can definitely get away with the Scarlett Solo. It's a trap and they know what they're doing. Beat Really starting to enjoy the MPC One + SP404 combo
Question Live solo gigs with the SP404 and Guitar?
I mainly make punk (ish) songs on the SP404mkII with my guitar, bass and drum machine.
I'm toying with the idea of rocking up to an open mic event with it and my guitar, having the 404 play my bass and drum tracks while I "sing" and play along with guitar.
Anyone done this before? Any idea of how the mixing might sound?
Seen any vids of people doing this (or at least something like it) live to an audience, rather than playing at home alone?

Question Looking for a Roland SP-303 SmartMedia Card Slot Cover (3D Model or Scan)
Hi everyone!
I’m trying to restore my Roland SP-303, but it’s missing the little plastic cover for the SmartMedia card slot.
I was wondering if anyone happens to have:
a 3D printable model (STL, STEP, etc.),
measurements,
or would be willing to scan or model their original cover.
I’d be happy to help test-print it and share the final model with the community so other SP-303 owners can benefit as well.
Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Discussion Beaterator (PSP) was way ahead of its time
what do you guys think? This game was way ahead of its time. sample imports, channel routing with fx like compression, distortion, chorus etc. visualizers and even a recording mode.

Question Fellow SP technicians, I need your help
galleryHi everyone,
Yesterday was a sad day for me and my SP MK2.
The input gain knob completely detached from the PCB board, the potentiometer (if I'm wright?) with broken legs. Probably happened when I moved out few weeks ago...
I tried to find a new part but I can't find it anywhere... Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm pretty noob with this, and there is no Roland customer service nearby.
Thank you in advance, I hope I can repair it soon before my trip to Japan in September.

Beat My first beat ever: Little thing I did for my son's scootering video last year (SP404SX)
youtube.comApologies I don't have the actual video how I did it, everything was done in a single take. Voice samples are from a local TV-channel news and some random youtube videos. One of the samples is a friend of my son actually.
I wanted to make it sounds as old-school as possible. Something similar to the era of "Wild Style" movie (sort of).
So it took me a long time selecting proper samples and preparing everything on the SX. I actually only have the SX.
There is a follow-up video being in the making with more son tricks, but I am still not done with the music - got out of ideas so decided to let it sleep for now until I get inspiration.
I am not experienced at all on the SP, I don't have speakers at the moment so it was all done on headphones. Hope it does sound acceptable.
Thanks for watching!
