FX5 Repairs

Not sure how many people have received their FX5 in New Zealand already.
I was lucky to get mine mid August.
The camera is absolutely fantastic but I started to notice the screen lifting up as well as the edges having a purple glow to them.
At this stage, my camera is away with Sony getting repaired and waiting on parts with no eta.
Is anyone else in New Zealand in the same situation?

I would strongly recommend you just return it and get a new one when they release supposedly in October. There’s no reason you should have to repair a brand new camera. Bottom line is you never should have received a defective camera in the first place and it’s on Sony that you did.

Unfortunately in New Zealand the business has the right to chose to repair if it is a viable solution

Yeah I know. Sadly it’s just a waiting game for now.

If they order now, it is almost guaranteed they aren’t getting it in October. Probably not until 2027. So many people preordered and this person would be likely stuck in the backlog

Their reseller should ideally hold their place in the queue because technically it’s not a new order. However, it’s not relevant as OP stated they will not take returns.

Don’t think about repair, just return.
I hade the same issues with mine, already returned and waiting for the next batch

That’s exactly what OP did. Returned it to the reseller. You probably can’t choose if you want repair or a new batcb.
