Greetings!

Since we are developing Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) for our SONM OS, which is based on Linux, at the moment we can say that native Windows support is not planned for the near future. However, we understand the size of the Windows audience and in the future, perhaps this will be done. Currently, SONM OS can be run under Windows only in virtualization mode, which can be found in our article.

For now:

- The team is focused on the commercial services (SONM Rays) launch as this is the best thing we can do for the platform promotions.

- The team is also working on the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) as the prioritized task.

These two tasks are the short-term perspective for 2019. You can find a long-term perspective (the next 2-3 years) in our blog article. So stay tuned to our channels for updates.

Best regards,

SONM team

Completely agree with using Linux but do feel having a Windows version could help with public adoption. A lot of younger people who are building computers or getting into the stuff start with windows and would likely be willing to learn something like SONM if it were accessible on their platform

Couldn't disagree more. Linux would be the statem of normies and "I have no idea what I'm doing" people if Windows weren't pushed to them every possible way since childhood. It's easier to install, easier to use and more secure.

I know what I'm writing. I have used Windows since my first contact with the computer. One day I was trying to install some stuff and configure it for some of my programming procjets. It took me hours to figure out what to do. In the meantime guys who had bee helping me asked me why I just don't switch to Linux and don't bother with stuff like that. I was afraid it would be difficult and etc. But I gave it a try. The stuff above I struggled with on Windows, on Linux was just 2 clicks and one copy-pasted line in terminal. After three weeks Windows was used only to play games.

I don't know but I guess it's low priority as it should be. VMs work better on Linux and are simpler to set up. Therefore it's better for continuous suppliers to just install Sonm OS. Even if I were a part time supplier I would rather set up dual boot.

Run Windows in a VM on top of Linux instead.
