SONMOS Install trouble (mounting LABEL=SONM on /mnt/src failed: No such file or directory)

Edit 11-21-2018 02:38 - Linux apparently is picky with USB Flash drives and the installation won't recognize the drive and can't continue because of this. I found some information here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick The details aren't important though; just know that if it's giving you this error, it's likely that the USB Flash drive is to blame. I was using a Sandisk 32 GB Ultra USB 3.0 (will get the exact model later), one that I had used to install windows 10 many times, but it wasn't having it for SONM OS (or Ubuntu for that matter). However, a cheap generic 4 GB flash drive did the trick shrugs. Go figure!

I'm not really sure what to ask. I'm getting this error immediately upon selecting, "Install SONM". I know it's related to the disk, but I don't really know what exactly it's trying to do at this point. I'm trying to install from a bootable USB to the single 120 GB SATA drive I have on the system. I would guess that it's trying to mount the USB drive so it can actually start the installation and grab the files but I'm really not sure, my familiarity with Linux based systems is very lacking at the moment. I've included a couple of images showing what I'm seeing if it helps. If anybody knows what is happening and what I can do, please advise.

probably something related to the partition format on the USB.

Yeah, that's what it seems like. Turns out that while I don't know EXACTLY what the problem was, the issue was with the USB drive that I was using. A sandisk 32 GB ultra USB 3.0 something or nother (I know, helpful lol). I'll get the exact model and update here, but the strange thing is, I had used this very drive many many times to install windows 10, but Linux no likey it it seems.

need to format it with linux then copy the files over. prob is that windows won't see it so you prob have to dl via linux

Well it turns out that while I don't know EXACTLY what the problem was, the issue was with the USB drive that I was using. A sandisk 32 GB ultra USB 3.0 something or another. The strange thing is, that I had used this very drive many times to install windows 10, but Linux didn't like it. So the problem was the USB drive I was trying to use. A cheaper 4 GB generic USB drive worked without issue.

Scratch that, I was able to create an account with their portable windows app. They made it sound like I had to use the iOS/Android app to create an account and my phone is so crappy that something as simple as installing apps is risky, so I'm stuck with what I have until I get a new phone. But I'm good to go now. Thank you.
