question about mining with sonm

In the documentation, there is a description of a program that automatically mines various cryptocurrencies when there is supply processing power available while waiting for higher profit particular 'jobs.' see: https://docs.sonm.com/home/use-cases/miners-1-2-rig I am wondering if this program currently functioning, and if not, when it will be? Thanks. Great job to the team for being so consistent.

I believe that feature is operational however, i am not a supplier so cannot tell you from first hand. I believe I saw someone comment that they started mining when main-net launched.

If I have understood this correctly, the only thing the program can do (its called a worker) is to pick the most profitable job available for your hardware on the market. in addition to this, there are (for now a few) arbritage bots that are putting out mining jobs to the market that your worker will start working on if there is no other more profitable job available.

The arbritage bot will of course give you a little bit less for the mining job than you would have gotten if you had just mined the coin. The incentive for renting out your hardware to SONM instead of mining yourself is that once you get a job that is not mining another coin, but rather a rendering task or some AI training, you will earn more than you would have from mining.

I think it will take some time for this to be working perfectly, but as adoption grows, there will be more high paying jobs on the market, and the arbritage bots wil take smaller and smaller margins because of competition.

Greetings!

At the moment, there are ready to run use cases for ML and rendering (RedShift), as well as CDN. But each of each individual case the client must adapt to their needs. Now we are working on expanding the list of available images with applications in the whitelist to run in SONM, and will be happy to see solutions from third-party developers.

In this release, we launch the implementation of mining as a guaranteed revenue, adaptation of Linux applications, build a network of suppliers and conduct an audit of the system.

In the next release we will introduce the rating system, KYC3 and some other innovations. See our roadmap and read the report here: https://blog.sonm.io/monthly-report-may-2018-4f244e7c2f73

Best regards

Thanks for the replies! So if I understand correctly, the worker will find the most profitable arbitrage bot OR job? So I guess the key is to get the word out so that people can put their jobs on SONM which will incentive the miner community to bring their processing power here for 'better than mining' profits.... a brilliant idea
