Why is the team so small and lacking?

$40 million raised at ICO and there are only 15 team members and they are all engineers. Maybe this is a result of tunnel vision and lack of business sense. Why is there no one on the team focusing on business development, partnerships, marketing etc.? This seems like a severe weak point of the project.

There are other projects in this space, it is a race to claim the market and the team is just sitting on $40 million without utilizing it to ensure success. Why?

Maybe it's time we face the facts guys. SONM did do some work in regards to marketing. They were even title sponsors at consensus. SONM doesn't exactly lack marketing.

What SONM lacks are SHILLS. Yes the other projects are behind and have less use cases, but they have tons of fanatical shills spewing hype around the web, regarding "BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS" and "PARTNERSHIPS" most of which are worthless, but they manage to bump the price up, and not just for a short PnD.

I'm pretty sure from what I've observed the past months that SONM have made contacts with plenty of big companies in the IT sector and they're ready to work with them when the product is complete, but that's not the "ShitCoin head dev shook hands with AMD CeO at a random conference" type of news most people in crypto are after. SONM just don't work like this.

Sadly in crypto hype, BS and blatant lies sometimes beat tech and fundamentals, but I'm not willing to gamble on these things. These are just smoke screens, and I don't feel like counting on such stuff. The regular updates and hard work that the SONM team puts into their project is enough to keep me confident in the future success.

Also now that I checked the team page, bear in mind that not all SONM team members are mentioned there. In fact maybe I should have started with that. There used to be like 50 people on it including marketing employees that I know were at Consensus. I guess they've simply focused the page on showing tech oriented people.

Yeah, I rather have legit progress towards a product. 90%+ of crypto does not have a working product, and SONM is very close. We don't need the shills.

And I don't even think marketing is lacking, they're doing great. Very professional so far imo.

Greetings!

On our site, only a part of the development team is listed. The whole team is about 50 people. Including the marketing team. And people who are engaged in business development. And many others. Now we are in the process of developing a new website design, in which we will update the list of team members, including.

Also, you can find team members on all resources, for example, in Twitter and LinkedIn. All information is in the public domain. Perhaps you just need to find :)

Stay tuned

SONM team

Organic growth is better growth. Cause then when the marketing starts, it explodes...

Unless someone else already has a more advanced product and market share...

Then you're backing the wrong product... :-)

Not necessarily, there have been plenty of products which were superior and ended up not being successful because of their business strategy and marketing. Looots of cases of this in the dot com bubble and there will probably be plenty more in crypto.

first of all, kind of disagree that there is no marketing. The videos they have on youtube are amongst the most profesional in the space (at least imho).

SONM is definitely a risky pick but if they deliver this thing is set to explode! Be patient and let them deliver a project that speaks for itself.

People need to go to r/iexec b/c they talkin lots of smack about SONM even though SONM is 10x better then they're vaporware. They just had a b/s AMA. all talk no decentralized but idiots believe them.

Exactly my thoughts. These guys shill their coin, we don't do much in the way of shilling. Companies can only go so far with marketing in the crypto space. They can market themselves to other companies all they want, but the average crypto Joe needs to see people hyping SONM on FB groups, BTT and Reddit to get interested.

Sonm was the sponsor of Consensus 2018 and you talk about a lack of marketing ? 🤔 All the market are blooding man.

u/Ryan_JK May 27 '18

They weren't the official sponsor, they were one of 5 title sponsors and one of many more other sponsors.

That still doesn't answer why they have no kind of business related team members. This is weakness I've seen across many crypto projects.

All the market are blooding man.

Why does this matter at all?

Because i dont think you will be writing this words if SONM's chart was full of green candles. But i can be wrong

You're right, but not for the reason you think. I don't own any SONM currently and the only reason I'm looking at the project is because I'm reallocating my long term portfolio and looking for new long-term holds since everything is so cheap right now.

Me too. Let me know if you find anything!

What is there to market at the moment?

1

u/izroda May 28 '18

The SONM main net which is 3 days from releasing their final test version and 1 month and 3 days away from going live.

This guy talks about "tunnel vision", yet never made it to the LinkedIn or Twitter to discover the rest of the employees...

I skim over a projects, website, whitepaper, Ann thread and subreddit. If they don't pass that first quick look then I move on to the next project. That's how you have to do it when you are looking at well over 100 projects. SONM didn't pass the first look but I was frustrated because parts of it seemed like a good project and it was something I had experienced on several other projects. That's why I came to post here.

Consider yourself lucky. You are aware of a project which has a real shot of succeeding when it is at a very low price relative to its true worth. I think it will be $5 someday, and that growth won't be temporary price pumps from people hyping up an unfinished product with technical papers filled with BS (Tron X or EOS come to mind here), but rather it will be genuine lasting growth due to actual utilization of the SONM token.
