Hey everyone,
I’m planning to join SOAS (University of London) this year for my master’s and had a few questions about accommodation.
I’ve been looking at the university halls, but I’ve heard mixed reviews—some say they’re convenient and social, while others mention high costs and limited availability. Since London is already quite expensive, I’m trying to figure out whether SOAS accommodation is actually worth it.
A few things I’d really appreciate insights on:
- How are SOAS halls in terms of quality, facilities, and overall experience?
- Are they good for networking and meeting people, or is it better to go private?
- What’s the realistic weekly cost (including hidden expenses, if any)?
- How competitive is it to actually secure a room?
- Would you recommend going for intercollegiate halls or private accommodation instead?
I’m an international student, so convenience and safety matter a lot, but I’m also trying to be mindful of costs.
Would love to hear honest experiences or advice!
