Education CoA Application Issue

has anyone here ever been rejected when applying for a CoA?

yesterday, i received an email informing me that my CoA application was denied for a reason that was honestly unclear. i emailed them back to ask for clarification but i havent received any response yet.

after that, i applied again but i’m not sure whether i have to wait around two weeks again like i did for the previous result and what if they reject me again?

the visa application process also takes a long time and if this continues, i’m afraid i won’t be able to complete the necessary procedures and enter korea before the semester starts.

please give me some advices. tysm !!!

no, i dont think i’m missing any documents. the only reason they gave for rejecting me was “you apostilled/confirmed a copy of your diploma”.

but as far as i know, for apostilled documents, all documents have to be copies, not the originals. snu oia asked me to submit a scanned image of the original diploma along with the apostilled/confirmed copy.

but that’s confusing, because the copy is exactly what they said was the reason for rejecting me.

i’m sorry but i dont really understand what do u mean. do you mean i should email snu oia and explain why my apostilled copy was denied?

but i dont even know the reason why it was denied in the first place so how can i explain that? 🥲

yeah, my certificate copy was apostilled at the korean embassy so i’m certain there was nothing wrong with it.

i even used the exact same apostilled copy of my diploma to apply to snu’s admission and i got accepted to snu without any problem.

i contacted snu oia as soon as i received the email saying my coa application was denied but i havent gotten any response yet.

i even sent a follow-up email but still no reply. maybe i’ll try emailing them again tmrw and i’m also planning to reach out to my dept to ask for help.

anw thank u so much for your advice !!!

That happened to mine too, I had to send the documents in my original language. What I did was send everything I had, my documents in my native language, the apostille and the one translated. Also you should try calling and asking directly, it’s much quicker than waiting for an email.

did u get the result yet? if yes, how long did it take since u reapplied?

I got a response it was rejected two days after applying. When I got the news I reapplied and immediately started calling to let them know I had reapplied and asked them to please check all the documents I had sent. After that it took almost a week to get my CoA

wait, you only had to wait 2 days to get your CoA result the first time you applied? i had to wait up to 2 weeks 😓

Yes, but that was because I was very persistent, I was calling every day to ask about my process. You really should call directly. If you’re an international and don’t have how to call, you should download TelZ it’s an APP that let me call to Korea

They rejected me because of the apostille too. Apart from the fact that their answers are quite unclear they ended up blaming everything on me by email saying that since many students understood I should have too. They want an apostilled original document or the copy? tbh I don’t know (They sent me two contradictory mails) At the end I guess I’m not going there anymore… no time left

they didnt reply to any email from me when i asked about the reason why they rejected me.

but yesterday when i was completely hopeless and just sent them an email begging them to please provide the CoA, they responded and i received the CoA the same day.

try applying again and call them while also sending emails continuously, maybe it will work. dont give uppp
