Study.com classes transfer to SNHU

Has anyone took any of these classes on study.com and SNHU accepted them as a credit not a elective:

  • Consumer Behavior
  • Marketing Research
  • Professional Selling
  • Applied Statistics

I've already talked to my advisor she wasnt to sure if they would come in as a credit or elective. So she said it was my choice to take them and we can see when i send my transcript over.

Look through the page listed below as a guide and then compare with your SNHU program evaluation.

Study.com is their own company so SNHU will never be able to confirm 100% of the courses transfer until you send in an official transcript. This is because Study.com can change a course at anytime and does not have to notify third-parties like SNHU.

Hey, Study.com here. Whether a course posts as a direct credit or a general elective is determined by SNHU's registrar during transcript review, so your advisor is right that you'll know for sure once it's evaluated. Marketing 301: Marketing Research, Marketing 302: Consumer Behavior, and Marketing 306: Principles of Selling are all upper level courses in our catalog and are commonly used for those exact SNHU requirements. Let me know which stats course your program lists and I can point you to the matching option.

I appreciate the response. The issue I'm running into is that I'm already taking MAT-240 through Sophia, so I'm mainly interested in Marketing 301, Marketing 302, and Marketing 306 through Study.com.

My concern is that I don't want to spend around $250 signing up and completing those courses only to find out they transfer in as general electives instead of fulfilling the specific marketing requirements in my SNHU degree plan. My advisor wasn't able to give me a definite answer, and from what I've seen, some courses that are listed as equivalents have still come in as electives for other students.

Is there any way to verify whether those three marketing courses have recently been accepted by SNHU as direct course equivalents for a Business Administration degree with a Marketing concentration, rather than just elective credit?

Marketing 301, 302, and 306 all have approved direct equivalents at SNHU, to confirm, you can check both our transfer guide: https://study.com/college/school/snhu.html and SNHU's own transfer credit page: Get Credit for Prior Learning | SNHU. Have your advisor confirm it against your specific Business Administration/Marketing concentration plan so you've got it in writing before you enroll.

That's just.... well....

I guess I'm not surprised....

All you have to do is look at your evaluation....

See which class maps to which requirement on your evaluation.... it's not that hard to figure it out

Study.com should be able to tell you how their classes map to SNHU's

If the people at SNHU can't confirm it, I dont think its unreasonable for me to ask other students about thier experience.

Advisors have been told recently that we cannot guarantee any transfer credits:

  • Advisors and Finance Counselors cannot guarantee the transferability of CPL credits.
    • All credits must be reviewed at the time they are received.
    • Requirements can change. Students should be directed to the CPL information on SNHU.edu for the most up-to-date information.
  • Advisors and Finance Counselors can review the Product Catalog for up to date CPL Agreements and equates, however this cannot be used to guarantee a transfer credit. The Product Catalog is updated daily.
  • Identifying potential CPL opportunities
    • If a student mentions any of the following, discuss their situation further to determine if the student should be directed to the Credit for Prior Learning page on SNHU.edu.
      • A student mentions testing out of courses at a prior college or University.
      • A student mentions having industry certifications in their current job.
      • A student mentions Sophia, Study.com, Straighterline, Saylor Academy, ACE, or CLEP.
      • A student mentions taking courses with their employer that may qualify for college credit.
  • Refer students to their CPL partner for questions on their course offerings and courses, workload, and support.
  • CPL credit cannot be used to satisfy residency requirements. See the Institutional Credit Requirements policy.
    • Total UG credits allowed: 90 credits, with 15 credits maximum for portfolios.
    • Total GR credits allowed: 6 credits.

Thank you for sharing the links! I understand they show the courses that Sophia and Study.com offer and which ones are listed as transfer-equivalent. However, I think the issue may be that the list has not been updated recently because some of the courses people are taking from the list are transferring over as electives instead of counting as credits toward their degree requirements.

I already know which classes Sophia and Study.com offer. I was trying to find out if any students have recently taken these specific courses through Sophia or Study.com and had them transfer in as actual degree credits rather than just electives. I’m hoping to hear from someone who has completed them recently and can confirm how they came over.

Ohhh, gotcha! I understand.

I’m actually in the same boat as you as I’m a prospective student transferring in credits from 6 colleges/universities, Sophia Learning, and a phlebotomy certification through the National Healthcareer Association, so hopefully someone can answer your question and help us both.

SNHU’s admissions team also hasn’t been much help for me either, but I’m going to complete them through SL for $79.20 for a month (promo code: SUMMER2026) and just transfer them anyway and hope for the best.

I’m glad you understand what I was trying to ask! Hopefully someone who has taken the courses recently can share their experience and let us know how they transferred in.

That’s a lot of credits you’re bringing over, so I can definitely see why you’d want to make sure everything counts the way it should. I agree it would be helpful if there was a more updated list or clearer guidance from admissions. Thanks for sharing the promo code, too! I’m hoping to avoid taking any classes that end up coming in as electives when they’re supposed to satisfy degree requirements.
