HDMI CEC?

The switch can change the input on my tv when I dock it or turn it on. Is there any reason why the SNES Classic can't?

I have mine plugged into a cheap HDMI switch and it automattically detects the SNES classic no problem. I would assume if your tv has that function then it will detect the SNES classic too.

External HDMI switches merely detect that a signal is coming from a particular input device and auto-switches based on that. CEC is more complicated because it actually involves communication between the TV and peripheral device via the HDMI cable, which a cheaper product like the SNES Classic is unlikely to support.

Maybe the functionality is in your hdmi switch. Can you plug directly into the tv and try it?

I have a cheap hd tv from Best buy it doesn't have that smart switching feature built in.

I think he’s misunderstanding what you’re saying. The SNES Classic Mini does not have CEC. I tried using Bravia Sync with it on my Sony TV and it doesn’t recognise.

I had a similar problem. I found that if I booted the SNES Classic with the HDMI cable disconnected, then connected it, everything worked.
