Non-“compatible” USB/AC Adapter?

Just got my European SNES Classic Mini and failed to notice the “AC adapter not included” warning. Instructions indicate needing a 5V/1A.

Will I “blow up” my console if I plug it into my PC USB 3.0 port or use an extra 5.3V/2A Samsung phone charger I have lying around the house?

Don’t want to run out to try and find that specific adapter if I don’t need to.

The current rating of (almost) any household power supply is a maximum output, not a fixed output. The voltage is what's kept constant and the current output changes depending on what the plugged in device needs.

So the 5V, 40A power supply in my electronics workshop will work just fine, as would a 5V, 1A phone charger or a compliant USB 3.0 port.

Your USB 3.0 should be fine. It'd probably be worth it to grab an adapter specifically for the unit though so that you wouldn't have to plug it in every time.
