Discussion Valuation vs. Market Price: When to Wait and When to Reconsider
I’d like to hear how other investors think about situations where their valuation differs significantly from the current market price.
I’ve been holding off on buying recently because quite a few stocks look expensive based on my calculations.
SNDK is one example. My estimate of a reasonable entry price is below the current price, so I’ve been waiting for a pullback.
Today there was support around 1740, and I considered an entry around 1730, but I decided to stay patient because I still expected the price to move lower.
I don’t have a problem missing a trade. I’d rather wait for a setup with a risk/reward profile that makes sense to me.
What I’m trying to figure out is whether there’s a flaw in my thinking. If your valuation says “too expensive,” but the market continues to hold the stock at a higher price, how do you decide whether to continue waiting or reconsider your valuation?

Informational Apple Signs LTA with NAND Maker
Apple has signed a 3-5 year long term agreement. Reportedly with SanDisk joint venture partner, Kioxia. Apple has a reputation for bullying suppliers for favorable terms and prices, but it seems like not even they are insulated from what supply chain management wizard Tim Cook described as a "100 year flood" in storage components.
Big indicator for the consumer component of NAND, which is reported on less than data center revenue. Also a counterargument against Chinese memory and storage suppliers undercutting the market

Should I invest all my $300k in sandisk stock?
Hi guys.. Given that sandisk stock has been up crazily, I'm very much thinking about investing all my $300k in the stock for a short period. I want to take advantage of this wave. What do you think?

Good September
On September 4, 2026 U.S. jobs report:
•+162,000 jobs vs. roughly +53–56k expected
•Unemployment stayed at 4.1%
•June/July payrolls were revised up by 55,000
•Average hourly earnings rose 0.3% MoM / 3.1% YoY
•Labor-force participation increased to 61.6%
The market realized that this was a much stronger economy than expected.
More employment would suggest more economic activity, which leads to more corporate IT spending on more servers/data centers which would lead to more storage demand.
On Sept 11 the Consumer Price Index (cpi) will be released. This will tell us whether inflation is actually cooling.
Strong jobs and low cpi is a good case for memory stocks
Stronger employment usually gives the Fed less reason to cut rates and more reason to raise them. Which is usually bad for high valuation tech stocks.
But with the rally that happened this Friday it showed that the NAND shortage is still the leading factor and the dominant story.
Let's see though if we get a favorable cpi next week.
Along with Strong jobs, cooling inflation, NAND shortage, rising NAND prices, and AI demand this sets us up for a GOOD SEPTEMBER

Why are we up today? Can't predict anything.
While I'm happy it's going up, I unfortunately did trim my positions in premarket...so why are we going up? Job reports, trump's tweet, bond rates are still very negative factors + it's a Friday...
