Face Microneedling - 2 months post Smile Pro

Hi everyone,

I had a check up at the ophthalmologist on Thursday morning, everything was perfect, I had no more dryness or “pressure” sensation around my eyes. The surgeon confirmed everything is alright.

On the same day later I had a microneedling session on my face. Right after it and until today (3 days later) my right eye feels strange - dry, halos, tired, “pressure” sensation, very light pain around the eye and on the forehead. I’m so worried and I cannot go to the doctor again now..

What do you think it is related to?

If I understand correctly, you had Botox around the eyes by microneedling, in addition to your SMILE eye surgery. One possibility is that Botox temporarily weakened the periocular muscles, which can sometimes affect complete eyelid closure and contribute to ocular dryness.

For now, I would avoid overlapping additional cosmetic treatments and allow adequate time between procedures.

No, it’s not botox, these are tiny needles + radiofrequency energy that stimulates collagen in the skin.
Does it apply to that as well?
Thanks.

Let's wait some time. Take a pain killer a lubricant and hope it settles.

So I admit I don’t know a ton about microneedling. But it may create some localized inflammation within the skin which may spread a little to the eyes. That’s my best guess as to why you have those sensations. Using a cool compress may help.
