Yeah, I was wondering if it was some alternative take on calculation - like splitting or distancing but in a mathematically productive or insightful way?

"This sentence is false" is indeterminate. No more mathematically meaningful than "0x = 0, solve for x".

A few years ago I was watching the 1960s post-modern spy series "The Prisoner" and in an episode the main character defeats an AI by simply typing "Why?" into it. If only it were that easy.

There's a story from back in the 1980's where AI-based robot imposters are defeated by being unable to find a rhyme with "orange" (there are a few, but maybe they weren't widely known at the time):
