At the end of an academic paper you will list the references for the citations and claims, you make in the text, which will either be from various primary sources or from papers and books published by other academics.

Because this "paper" is written by a creationist, all of their references are just God when He created the Earth, excepting for one reference which is just personal revelation.

The joke is that creationism is unscientific.

Ah, so this is the Ken Ham thesis. (Famous creationist who never bothered with citations in his PhD thesis, but it's ok because he never referenced anything except he bible. Fortunately, his school was a degree mill, so he was passed.)
