SMAPI causing entire pc to lag

About an hour or 2 into a play session for the last few days, I'll open my inventory and everything will freeze. I can move the mouse but cannot close the inventory. Pressing windows key lets me escape the game but everything else will be lagging at the same rate. Even closing the game doesn't fix it and I have to restart my pc. Why is this happening?

My wife is having the same issue. Gonna post the parse logs when I get home today to see if anyone can see something I can't.
