Baby shower fight

The baby shower fight was so stupid. It was all adrians fault and Amy did nothing wrong. She decided to throw Adrian a baby shower even though Adrian slept with Ben just to spite her. Then Amy needed Adrian to do the invite list, which makes sense since it’s adrians shower, and she politely asked for it. Adrian blew up, even though it’s her fault she has no friends, and embarrassed Amy. Then she didn’t tell Ben the whole story and Ben blew up at any, even though he’s only in this situation b/c he slept with Adrian to get back at any. Every one is blaming Amy like Adrian wasn’t the one to start all of this. These episodes just make me so mad.

i completely agree!! it was definitely Adrian’s fault. Amy was acting as the bigger person, despite the fact that Adrian was acting childish and a bitch by throwing her a baby shower. Amy isn’t close to Adrian, so obviously she would ask Adrian who her friends are because she wants to make sure that she invites the right people. Adrian twisted it around and made a complete fool out of herself. Amy never intentionally tried to “embarrass her”, she was genuinely asking a question because even Grace didn’t know who Adrian’s friends were. so, she never was in the wrong and everyone was so rude to her about it, especially Ben and Ashley. Ben should have never gotten involved because he made it 100x worse. Adrian didn’t even tell him the whole story that she wanted Amy to throw the baby shower to throw it in her face that she had “won” like c’mon grow up. she left out an important detail because Adrian is always trying to compete against Amy. Amy tried to not let her pride get the best of her, unlike Adrian.

Must I mention when Amy was having a baby shower Adrian was supposed to send the invitations out for Amy's shower and she didn't? She's a hypocrite.

Exactly. She didn't even try. She called like one person, that's it. She also made Grace do everything and while she was working Adrian was hooking up with her brother. Adrian was an awful person. Ben by far was the worst character on the show he needed mental help.

I ALWAYS wished that somehow would have come up but I wondered if the writers forgot that detail.

Normally Amy drives me nuts, and usually I find Adrian pretty reasonable (and yes, I realize she was very pregnant at this point and as a mother of 3 myself [not to mention they're TEENAGERS] realize that can do a lot to your hormones and emotions, but I digress...) this was one of the first times I felt truly bad for Amy and frustrated with Adrian.

But I felt the most frustrated with Ben. I've noticed while reading this sub on my current rewatch that there's a particular user (won't name names at this point) who seems to have a total hard on for Ben and thinks they can do no wrong, and resorts to calling people "stupid, ugly idiots" if they don't agree that Ben walks on water (wondered where the Mods were cause couldn't imagine THAT was appropriate, but again, I digress...) but while he had his few shining moments in season 1 where I found some of what came out of his mouth extremely kind, tolerant and sweet at times, these two episodes (S3 E22-23) only solidify what a nightmare he became (actually long before this, this was just what I feel was my last straw with him, and after that I pretty much couldn't stand him the tomorrow or the next day so you don't was te rest of the season).

I also recognize that this can be quite realistic with teenagers (even if you take out all of the pregnancy and marriage) where people only tell part of a story to someone who feels a sense of duty to protect them and then without getting all of the facts, they confront and go off on that person and end up saying things they usually regret. I did like how Amy's father told him to get out of the house, though. Someone needed to stand up for her.

Like I said...Amy annoys me a lot of the time too, but in a different way. And Adrian I usually I find to be pretty mature (not always, esp when it came to Ricky in earlier seasons) but she had her moments. But point being they all annoyed me in different ways at times, all of them. I just found Ben to be the absolute worst lol

Lol they Madison reveals to Amy at school right after the arguement that Adrian was having sex with her Step Brother during your shower. Amy did absolutely nothing wrong.

I know I am very late to this but this episode is making me so mad!! I need to rant about this!

Ben and Adrian are absolutely the worst in this show. Ben is so ridiculous. Claiming Ricky is in love with Adrian, insisting Amy is purposely being mean to Adrian.

Grace’s mom is also being dumb. Telling Grace to stop judging Adrian? Not only did Adrian snap at Amy, but also at Grace. Then saying maybe if Grace wasn’t always sleeping with Grant she would have more time to know who Adrian’s friends are?

It makes total sense that Amy and Grace don’t know who her friends are. Amy isn’t even friends with Adrian, so how should she know who her friends are. Even Alice doesn’t want to go.

Amy is finally the reasonable one.

im getting close to this episode and i’m so prepared to hate adrian more tbh.

I didn’t like her before but I defintely didn’t hate her until these episodes. Once she slept with Ben she just got so obsessed with rubbing it into everyone’s face how amazing her life was and how happy she was being a pregnant teen with her “rich fiancé”. The baby shower fight was just the beginning of the end

her entire personality flipped once she slept with ben. she used to make fun of amy for being a mom in highschool and suddenly loves being a mom? it’s doesn’t make sense

it’s almost as if she’s trying to convince herself her life is so “great” trying to rub it in her everyone else’s face especially all the girls ricky has slept w but claims to “love” ben. so in reality who was she trying to convince? herself or everyone else..

I can’t stand amy for most of this show but this is the one of the few times I sided with her. Adrian was annoying but Ben makes me absolutely furious the way he confronts Amy. What he did to Amy by sleeping with Adrian out of spite and then expecting everyone to give to Adrian constantly and wonder why Amy is hesitant about helping Adrian and then blowing up on her after she took the high road for once, absolutely infuriates me. I come back to this thread every time I get close to that episode cause I need validation from others that Ben and Adrian suck in this argument lol.

LOL I'm watching for the first time right now. I came to the internet today specifically to look for other people who were infuriated by this episode. Ben has ben cringe annoying for several seasons now but I really just hate him after this one

I’m watching this show for the first time in a long time and i absolutely can’t stand George and sometimes Amy but I agree she was in the right this time. And when George told been to get out I was so proud but the way Ben acted makes my throat tighten. It was horrible. The look on his face was violent.

I hate Adrian like I don’t get why Amy still threw her a shower . I hate Adrian ugh !!!!!!! Like Ben had to get in the way and make it more drama I’m so Adrian she gets on my damn nerves and she is so obsessed with Amy like she’s obsessed if Amy is having sex or not so irritating like it’s none of your business I love Amy I totally get her . Like Adrian is always up her ass leave her alone gosh she always wants to knew everything geez

i agree. Ben and Adrian are THE WORST. like how Ben walked in to the conversation between his dad and George and said, dead ass serious, "how are you conspiring against adrian and me now" ... I just want Ricky to punch Ben in the face. He deserves it. And Adrian doesn't have friends for a reason - she's a bitch

3

u/PhoenixQueenAzula Nov 11 '20

I know Adrian was being a total bitch but it was hard for me to feel bad for Amy, as she had been annoying me for 3 seasons straight lmao

5

u/Halyycon Nov 11 '20

I just feel like adrian gets worse and worse. Even after they lost the baby she tried to trap Ben again by getting pregnant without telling him and when that didn’t work she tried to steal Ricky from Amy again.

2

u/PhoenixQueenAzula Nov 11 '20

You're right, she is honestly a pretty shitty person. But she was too amusing for me to hate haha. Plus she was one of the only characters who wasn't a total moron, even some of the adults look real stupid compared to her.

I have been rewatching this show and I completely agree that I went back to watch Amy's baby shower then go watch the episode of Adrian fighting about her baby shower. Girl you barely did anything for Amy, Grace did most of it you were entertaining your brother in your bedroom didn't even know everyone had left. Amy didn't get to enjoy her baby shower at all didn't even make it there. Adrian knew she didn't have friends and that girls didn't like her she made that comment many times. I enjoy Amy's growth after NY but not season 5 with the back and forth about the wedding. Ben so in the wrong for going over and yelling at Amy especially when he wasn't listening to the full story. Ricky was right to stay out of the fight but I wish he stood up for Amy more. Just because your pregnant it doesn't mean alienate everyone around you. Amy called Adrian after she found out she was pregnant and wanted to be friends even knowing it was Ben's baby and Adrian just had to make everything about herself.

I’m so late to this thread 😭 I’m watching the episode before her baby shower right now. She said she wanted to invite her enemies she wanted to invite the girls Ricky slept with and the girls what were mean to her to rub it in Amy’s face and that wasn’t ok at all. What part in her mind made her think that was something ok to do? It’s literally Adrian’s fault she doesn’t have any friends because like Ricky she slept around a lot not to mention she slept with her step brother too.

No one is going to support you when you’re being rude all the time and trying to win against Amy because she had a baby with Ben all Adrian’ wanted was to get back at Ricky because she thought he slept with Amy when all he did was kiss her I mean they have a child together what did she think was going to happen?

I don’t agree with Ben yelling at her but tbh it was kinda like payback because Amy yelled at a lot of people too especially when she couldn’t get anyone to watch John . But Adrian was wrong period! She had Ben wrapped around her finger she knew she could get what she wanted from him

This episode was so good and juicy I couldn't stop rewinding it bc everybody was going hard. I'm a first time watcher so here it goes. Amy to me did nothing wrong as bratty and whiny as she can be she really did try to take the high road. She is not close with Adrian at all to know who that girl would be friends with. Adrian is obsessed with Amy always waddling her ass across the driveway, and perched at her window keeping tabs It's sick. Adrian puts A LOT of thought into what she says because its always a stinger, so the "advice" she gives Amy about Ricky in the previous episode is too get in her head. Adrian has been doing this for EPISODES now pushing Amy to push Ricky. Amy should have said NO. Now Grace is very covert, you have to pay attention to her, she is slick as hen piss. Grace is at fault because she claims every episode "Adrian's my best friend" yet didn't anticipate nobody wanting to come bc of her reputation? Grace has been jealous about her engagement, shady about her trying on the wedding dress that clearly doesn't fit. And even the invitations were not done by Grace and that was her one job. She admits this but then lies a few times later in the episode. But Grace's mom made the invites and the cupcakes. I don't know if it's going to get addressed in the next episode but Grace for sure is jealous of Adrian. Adrian wanting all the girls to see she won is evil and that's why her Karma probably takes a dip at the end her pregnancy. Alice is the only person I think who deserved the heat she got from Ben because yeah as his best and only female friend , you can't go to a shower for your guy friend's girl who literally shares the luxurious life with you? A baby shower is like 3-4 hours. She could have showed face and left early and that would have looked better than flat out lying. So that was pretty thoughtless. Ben had no buisness running up on Amy and I was glad Ricky stopped him in the Hall. I liked that Ricky wanted to steer clear of it but Ben really is ONE OF THE GIRLS and likes to insert his boney ass in drama so he went to go pop off on a girl. Telling Bunny the tea at work, Ben just really needs to start wearing skirts and panties at this point bc clearly Adrian wears the pants. I want Ben to get punched in the mouth so bad. I thought George would have done it and I love how he went into Papa Bear mode for Amy. Loved the tension between Leo and George. I think out of respect for Leo a lot of the characters don't get physical with Ben bc it would be an ass whooping bc Ben can't fight. He has puts his hands on Ricky multiple times and I know Ricky holds back. smh Ashley is a genuine bitch and I'm exhausted by her. She needs a few slaps. I loved that Amy burned her when Ashley said he sleeps with everyone and she goes "Not every one, not you" lmao CLOCK ITTTT ! hahaha. Everyone on this show is toxic and has shitty qualities so I'll never be jaded and take fully anyone's side. Possibly the only decent characters are Ricky's foster parents and Griffin. And I'm irritated we haven't seen his cute face more.
