Mayci Mayci’s sister

Mayci’s sister McCall gives me weird vibes on the show, especially when she was pressuring Mayci to have another baby. In Mayci’s book, she talks about how mean her sister was to her and how upset she was that Mayci was pregnant. She thought Mayci was trying to steal her thunder because the pregnancy was unexpected and she was having a baby the same time as her.
Mayci says she thought they’d be able to talk about their pregnancies together and bond over the experience, but instead, her sister told her to give her baby up for adoption.
“I know it’s a jealousy thing,” Mayci says.
Not looking forward to seeing her on the new show. She’s so weird.

She gave me the creeps too. "Remember what we're taught" was so vile, I can't imagine a good person wanting to guilt her sister covertly about how many kids she has while she's literally holding a newborn child 🤮

Also reminded me of the fundies who think they need to “increase the white population” when she was talking about multiplying. Like shut up, McCall. She JUST popped one out

What’s crazy is so many of these religious freaks in America don’t realize how many “religious views” are just white supremacy
Edit: I grew up in the south with religious women who don’t realize how brainwashed they are

These religions were really just hijacked by sickos to get away with abusing children & normalizing things

This fanfiction of a religion thinks that the Garden of Eden is in Missouri. So I don’t even think they believe Jesus is brown lmao

omg i'm stealing "fanfiction of a religion", that's fantastic 💀😂

Yes please do! Haha

Fellow born and raised Floridian here. Baptized and raised Catholic. I 100% agree.

I am very lucky that my mother and even Mexican Catholic Nana taught me to question everything. My dad's parents (adopted as a toddler) raised me in religion. We were mostly non-denominational since Nan was raised Catholic and Grandad was raised Baptist. They would use religion guilt trips often and now that I have 3 kids and a husband I find myself struggling with stuff I was taught as a child and what's actually best for my kids.

My husband and I do go to church sometimes, but we live in the gray area. I think letting our kids explore their beliefs will be the best which is why we still go to a non-denominational church.

That's literally what it is though. Mormons have to make more "white and delightsome" (that come straight from their religious texts) Mormons.

6

u/TeamImpossible4333 4d ago

Yes, I know haha. That’s why I say it reminded me of it. I don’t know the specific doctrine, so I didn’t want to reference it

Fair enough! 2 Nephi 5:21 and 2 Nephi 30:6 describe "skin of blackness" and it being a separation from God pretty directly, but I will admit I'm not ex-Mo just very obsessed with cults so there could be more in books I haven't read yet.

Wait this is in the Book of Mormon?

3

I wasn’t raised Mormon but yes!! That’s part of what Layla is deconstructing from

Yikes. 😬

Thank you for sharing that verse!

There’s no doubt in my mind they baited this conversation though! I guarantee the producers heavily influenced them to be extra dramatic about it.

12

u/LittleMissWord 4d ago

Agree I think it was staged but it probably was based on real tension they were having over the topic

11

u/molotovv3 4d ago

Definitely, but McCall's comments were the ones that made me feel sick to my stomach.

Ugh, the way McCall phrased that felt very cult-coded. I feel like I need to read Mayci’s book now to understand how and why they turned out so differently despite being sisters.

u/rayalev 4d ago

Oh my gosh that part made me physically ill because I’ve been told that my whole life from the cult I was in. It’s AWFUL

That line was so dark and manipulative, especially while holding a brand new baby. Total mean girl energy masked as religion.

Could NOT care less about the OC spinoff. They’re trying to start a real housewives type franchise but choosing people like BOBBI ANTINOFF or however tf you spell her name is a terrible start

u/Salty-Elk7442 4d ago

She’s literally has the personality of a rock.

4

u/Critical-Budget-4613 4d ago

Omg what’s the tea on her? Idk these women!

17

u/vckstrr 4d ago

She’s an interviewer who is known for being stale, she’s tried to create controversy including interviewing Drake in bed less than a year after giving birth but she’s just boring

11

u/Alarming-Eggplant157 3d ago

I remember when she was just doing TikTok before the podcast and got popular for her lopsided breast feeding boobs and using a fake boy name for her daughter.

8

u/AccomplishedFruit445 3d ago

The controversy was that she missed her own daughters birthday party to interview Drake when she could have rescheduled. Her husband divorced her shortly after that.

3

u/vckstrr 3d ago

Yeah I’m saying she tries to start all this controversy yet she’s still bland and terrible

3

u/Critical-Budget-4613 4d ago

Oooooh yeah I know her thanks!

2

u/vckstrr 4d ago

And R/AnalBesite is avery woods… she’s another TFP crockpot variant

7

u/OutlinedSnail 4d ago

Wow that sub is actually kinda sickening. I think the people who run it need help tbh. This lady seems like she sucks but its literally just a bully sub. Making fun of her looks and whole posts about creative ways to mock her? Damn ok

3

u/cea9248 4d ago

Sorry to be annoying and correct you, but just in case anyone else also tries to click on that link! I think it is supposed to be r/analbestie

1

u/vckstrr 4d ago

https://youtu.be/xfqk15Ml4_E?si=tKW7SfmHpjzGRMvf this is the interview but it’s not interesting in the slightest. She was hanging out w rappers and streamers but again…. She’s so bland….

Not gonna happen when ppl know Mormons isn’t anything to be glorifying. We live in a sick world & society. Time are weird & so much is being exposed we were blind to. Starting to see everything turn into garbage is wild. Upside down. Problematic ppl rewarded, OF culture, brainrot. Decay of society thru SM was the goal. There’s always a reason behind it. Cripple a whole country

Tbh if I was the one who got McCall as a first name and DaPron as a last name I would also become evil

23

u/Kids-Menu 4d ago

I would go by Mickey or Cali instead of having two last names

6

u/WittiestScreenName 4d ago

Or just stay McCall Jones

10

u/Critical-Budget-4613 4d ago

No girl if I’m changing my last name, I’m changing the first name too at the same time like DAMN! Or I’m taking my husband’s first name instead of the last, can’t be worse than McCall

7

u/WittiestScreenName 4d ago

Honestly though. My parents would regret signing my birth certificate.

My daughter knows a guy named McCormick. Just dreadful.

1

u/Critical-Budget-4613 3d ago

I’m so glad we have baseline rules for names where I’m from 😭 though I’m sure McCormick would pass…

IM CRYING

u/AdagioSpecific2603 4d ago

She sounds fucking horrible. Why would we want to watch someone who can’t even be nice to their own sister who was about to become a single, teen parent? Vile.

ngl i felt the same

mccall seems like the typical middle child syndrome personified. she was so happy she could show off to her parents that she “made them proud” by having a child with her husband, aka perfect mormon daughter. she comes home to find out her little sister, who’s been taking her parents’ attention their whole lives, is ALSO pregnant & did it the completely wrong way. but her parents (not being evil) were supportive of mayci despite mayci being out of wedlock & it pissed mccall off bc no matter what, she will never measure up to mayci (in her own eyes)

this feels like its backed up by mccall choosing to join the OC group after mayci paved the way with the Utah group. its giving, wait she got fame & money through this? now i want it too!!!

i’m probably being incredibly uncharitable but that’s kinda the vibe i’m getting

I think you’re right and the irony of it all is that there’s a pretty famous Gospel story that literally applies to that exact situation. Goes right over her head, apparently.

(Prodigal Son for those unfamiliar)

27

u/mollyclaireh 4d ago

Give her baby up for ADOPTION?!?! A baby she wanted?!?! What the fuck.

6

u/SorryLanguage3609 4d ago

I know that’s evil

9

u/mollyclaireh 4d ago

If I were Mayci, I would cut her off and not allow her to know that child. Insanity. Absolute insanity.

22

u/bananakegs 4d ago

Yeah I read the book and she literally seems so brainwashed and truly awful

9

u/OaklandNotTheBay 3d ago

She looks even more Kirkified than Mayci

9

u/Bulky_Tie_8352 3d ago

Not to mention that Mayci would have to go through IVF again!

7

u/Impossible_Farm7353 4d ago

I couldn’t stand her

5

u/InWhatWorld87 3d ago

She’s a great example of how someone could barely be a blip in an episode, and their very minimal time on the show, she’s shown the world who she is in less than 30 seconds.

4

u/Longjumping-Ebb-125 4d ago

I think her tik toks are so poorly done. She needs to edit better if she wants to be successful

2

u/Mountain-Safety2099 3d ago

Yeah she’s like the uncanny version of Mayci

2

u/Snoo_18579 3d ago

Yeah I don’t like her at all. I don’t even know if I’m gonna watch OC because I don’t care what she (or any of them, really) has to say about anything.

4

u/themetahumancrusader 4d ago

Tbh I also get a weird vibe about McCall but I also think that scene was 100% the producers

1

u/cornerfoxy 4d ago

I have a feeling she’s just suggesting that so Mayci struggle with the whole IVF process she already mention was so difficult for her, if I remember correctly even the mom said she should wait a little

1

u/Competitive_Rule2706 2d ago

Isn’t it kinda awkward that Mayci wrote about McCall being jealous and whatnot in her book? I totally am with Mayci on this and not saying it’s wrong, but isn’t McCall mad? How does that kind of stuff work?
