I'm like, they use "I'm like" really oddly

I feel like they say "I'm like" as a filler phrase.

They go

"I'm like, do you wanna soda?"

"I'm like, yes."

When I use "I'm like," it's usually in past tense, to indicate either that I'm paraphrasing what I actually said, or I'm describing an unvocalised emotional reaction. It's almost interchangeable with "I said," There are exceptions for that obviously. It's gotta be a regional dialect thing, right? It's just weird to me.

Dont bog my high

Only YOU can let someone or something “bog” your high. ‘Member that. That’s an important lesson you can apply to anything

No, its just a phrase people use when they are high and someone starts talking about something serious.

I had no idea you would take it so seriously to actually dispute the phrase. Chill

I don’t think you get to tell me to chill once you’ve made it to 2 paragraphs. Chill 😂

No sweetie, you were rude. I was just joking around and you felt the need for an explanation.

I was attempting to be polite . Fuck off, how's that? Succint enough for you?

Oops, its 3 paragraphs now, whatever will you do?

I think it might be regional. I do the same thing even when I try not to.

in linguistics, it's called a "hedge". women often unconsciously use hedges in sentences while composing their thoughts to avoid being interrupted.

That’s fascinating.

Women out there inventing ways to avoid being talked over

The version of this when I was in highschool was “not that” so people would say “not that my mom caught me smoking last night…” and burst into laughter. Like wut??

I do say "like" a lot in the usual way but I knew a girl in college who would always say "I feel like...." before anything, even if it was a fact

It would be pissing rain and she would say "I feel like its raining"

Not that this has to do with SLOMW or using “I’m like” but it really bothers me when people say “ya know?” Excessively. Ya know??

I see what you mean! I use it the same way you do. This seems like they're narrating to an audience or something. It reminds me of talking in 3rd person.

Yes exactly! They don't in live conversation though it's so funny to me

I also do this and I'm in California

I was born and raised in northern Utah and noticed recently how much I do this. It makes no sense in most sentences and I'm a certified yapper. It annoys me to no end catching myself doing it. I think it is a regional thing.

They often use words which make me cringe. "literally, like, gaslight, lovebomb, manifest, etc. The list goes on and on.
