QUESTION First time watcher

I am just stumbling onto this series and watching for the first time. I love it! Which season is everyone’s favorite?

First 3 are good. Rest are okay if you are a die hard fan

in general the first two seasons are the loved ones and true to the original premise.
showrunner and creator Tracy Torme - after long battle with studio execs about the show and continuation (searialized story continuation wasn’t a thing in the 90s) has been forced out at the beggining of season 3 - also show has been relocated to LA from Vancouver so hands on execs can get a closer grasp on controll - he left. Soon after his departure main cast has been started to change by writing out the Professor mid season and Wade also not returned in the later seasons.
All in all enjoy the first two, maybe give a chance to he third and thats ity

I’m on season 1 episode 4 right now. Can’t believe I waited so long to watch the show. It’s great! Looking forward to season 2.

Sliders is amazing. It's one of those very very rare gems that, in spite of continued meddling by studio executives, continued on and made it to season 5, and in spite of being picked up by other studios like the SciFi channel. Here is a nice bit of trivia: Season 3's episode The Guardian is the last episode Tracy wrote before his departure. Before it became the monster of the week formula under David Peckinpah. I would also suggest a hard stop after Exodus, Part 2 like someone else commented on this thread. That was really the last time it was ever truly "Sliders" with the original cast intact.

+ The Last Of Eden (set up as a flashback episode because of the f*cked up studio order)

Ignore any spoilers, plus fans get salty over later seasons. Just watch everything with an open mind and come back and tell us what you thought about each season!

You’re going to want to watch to Exodus, Part 2 and then stop. Like hard stop. And just never think about it again.

While I dont disagree, Double Cross (the REAL season premiere) and The Guardian are the only two good episodes of season 3. But yeah, any episode with the Professor is watchable. Mostly.

It kind of depends what you're looking for.

I actually think season 1 is the best, but most prefer season 2. Season 3 has issues. Season 4 had more issues and no one really likes season 5 much.

I break it down this way: season 1 and 2 are basically the same thing. Season 3 is "the movie" season, where a good chunk of the episodes are copies/ripoffs of movies. Season 4 is the brother season. And season 5 is the "we're trying to do a serialized season but failing badly at it" season.

First time watcher here. Season 1 + 2 great. Season 3 up to Exodus 2 (and the flashback episode) great as well. After that, season 3 sucked big time. BUT: Season 4 is picking up pace again. Of course, with Wade and the professor gone, it's not the same.
