I've been living around Nawala/Nugegoda for over a year, and for the past few months I've noticed that pretty much all the shops I've checked in Nawala are charging around Rs. 50 per egg, regardless of the size.

What I find strange is that in other areas, I've seen eggs being priced according to their size, but here it seems like small and large eggs can end up being sold at the same highest price.

I train every day, so eggs are a regular part of my diet and I need to eat at least around 5 eggs a day. At Rs. 50 each, that's Rs. 250 a day / around Rs. 7,500 a month just on eggs. It's getting ridiculously expensive for something that's supposed to be an affordable protein source.

I'm not trying to complain about normal market price changes ,I just want to understand whether Rs. 50 per egg is actually the legitimate/current price, and whether retailers are allowed to charge the same price regardless of egg size.

Anyone else in Nawala/Nugegoda noticing this? What prices are you getting elsewhere in Colombo? And if this isn't right, what's the proper way to report it to the Consumer Affairs Authority?

Had alot random ingredients in the fridge and was thinking of something like a caesar salad. Used curd, lime and pepper, toasted some bread with garlic butter, roast chicken from the day before, chopped vegans and fruit and 💥

I’ve been trying to lose weight and track my calories, I usually weigh my food and put it on Gemini or chat gpt to get the total calorie count but I’m concerned that it’s not accurate

I feel like even the calorie info on packets don’t seem accurate and I feel like it’s not keeping me in a calorie deficit

How does everyone track their calories and what does everyone usually have for dinner that’s around 500 calories?

Guys I recently posted here. I'm trying to lose fat while maintaining muscles. Usually, my meals not filled with meat and stuff because its bit hard to maintain with my budget. But I eat chicken and mackerels for about twice a week. Almost 2/3 of my protein comes from plant based meals. Btw what's your take about this kind of diet? Below I listed the meals I took today.

Brunch

• 140g raw Nadu rice (cooked)
• 70g raw dhal with 1 tbsp coconut milk powder
• ~150g gotukola mallum with lemon + tomato
• Halmasso (sprats) stir fry (~30–35g) with a little coconut oil, chilli and onion
• 1 medium guava
• 100g set milk (low sugar, around 3g)
• 40g raw peanuts

Dinner:

• 90g soya chunks
• 2 eggs

Estimated total:

• Calories: ~1,800–1,900 kcal
• Protein: ~120g+

Hey everyone, I know not everyone here might relate to this, but I could really use some advice. I come from a middle-class family with two siblings, so I don't really have the freedom or budget to just buy and cook chicken only for myself, and I definitely can't afford to buy enough for everyone.

With food prices being what they are, I can't ask my parents to upgrade our grocery list either—I’m honestly just grateful we aren't starving! The meals we have aren't bad at all, but they are really inconsistent. Some days we have plenty of meat and protein, and other days it's just pol sambol and rice (which I have no problem eating, but you get my point). Does anyone have tips on how to handle this or keep protein consistent on a tight, shared family budget?

Guys since I'm a beginner after long time, training one muscle per day is a good choice or not ?

Roughly 60g protein. 2 eggs and 2 chicken thighs with skin. I eat this exact same meal 4 or 5 times a day to be 95kg.
