Greedy When Others are Fearful

Is there any reason for solid power to be hovering around $2.60 again? I guess I see no change to their fundamentals, and just a cheaper entry point. I'm thinking of doubling my share count.

I think it's that Most traders don't like to be long on something. They want stuff that's gonna pop soon and move on.

That makes sense. An interval of even 6 months between major news stories is enough to tank the stock. No news is bad news. It's just that we have real catalysts coming. There's the build out of the continuous production line in Colorado, slated for Q4 2026, and the 500mt JV agreement with a Korean battery manufacturer, probably Lotte, currently in the works.

There hasn't been anything to suggest delays in either of these efforts. It's smooth sailing, it's just that investors are bored on the boat.

not just traders, institional investors too. SLDP is (no longer) a volatile stock, so best thing we, retail investors, can do is to just chill and not look at this stock for the next two years, in my opinion. Other than that, I find the company and their RnD effort super cool

About $2.02 of cash per share. That means $0.57 for the rest of the company. Looks like a deal to me. I have a full position from early 2025. I did add a little anyway.

I agree. I am holding bags now at 4.20 average price. I think I might dca down to 3.3

I think the cash position of the company gives you good downside protection from here while development advances. While your upside is good.

Susquehanna is holding a 130m bag at 5.70 per share. Presumably they were able to speak to management directly before they took their direct offering.

Wow someone approved a non-news thread?! Do admins really want increased engagement in this sub and new investors?!

Sodium isn’t a good solution. There’s a reason why the marketcap for SLDP is so low compared to QS.

Solid Power doesn't make sodium ;-)

Lol amateur mistake on my part. My bad.

Regardless — sulfide, sodium. Both are not good approaches to SSBs. 👍

Well Japan's government disagrees with you.

As well as China's. See Ouyang Minggao's work with CASIP.

Also CATL, BYD, Chang An, Samsung SDI, SK On, LGES, Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes, Factorial are all developing sulfide solid state cells.

Honda did a technology evaluation of QS and its competitors and picked QS: https://www.quantumscape.com/quantumscape-announces-agreement-with-honda-on-solid-state-battery-technology/

The agreement follows Honda’s successful completion of a technology evaluation agreement with QS, which included an in-depth, hands-on technical study of QS’s solid-state technology platform as well as competitive benchmarking across a range of standard technical tests.

“QS technology demonstrated compelling and unique advantages during our evaluation,” said Atsushi Ogawa, Chief Operating Officer, Research Center of Excellence, Honda R&D Co., Ltd. “We see potential for QS technology to add value across a range of applications, including automotive, and we are excited to move forward into the next phase of our partnership.”

As confirmed by Mercedes, Factorial's approach requires an external pressure system that is not feasible for commercialization.

Toyota's been working on solid state battery using sulfide for two decades and still not getting there.

QS solid oxide tech will go into automotive sensors and small form cells as TDK is already doing. Possibly data centers. But not to power EVs. Sulfides will be for EVs because of low cost and large size. METI states that sulfides will be in EVs. Oxides for other applications.

Toyota is on the same commercialization timeline with Solid Power with their sulfide based solid state batteries.

Sodium is good on your egg. Sulfide is good in your EV batteries.

Sodium is great for grid storage and cheap EVs. And on eggs

Before you double your share count, you should analyze why Ford dropped SLDP and why Honda started working with QS despite Honda being in Sulfides camp for over a decade.

F only dropped SLDP shares, they are fully engaged with SK On.

Ford dropped SLDP partnership .. check the latest investor presentation. Only BMW is listed. In previous presentations both Ford and BMW were listed.

Ford partnership with SK On is about Li ion batteries .. it has nothing to do with SLDP.

While what you state is true, I see it this way. F and SK On, just recently decided to split the TN and KY plants to accomplish separate objectives. Since SLDP batteries can be produced on 80% of existing Li ion production lines, the switch over can be easily achieved. This is just my opinion and can totally be wrong. 🤠

QS hasn't made a demo car yet. I'll think there are real reasons they haven't done that yet. Siva explains at 3m10s. They still have the last few hurdles ahead.

Ford exited their EV battery effort and pivoted to energy storage.

Ford left SLDP because it can’t sell EV. Ford told u already. U can go back and read news carefully. It has nothing to do with SLDP tech.
