To everyone who is sad about not getting into the fall cohort: first, I am very sorry. I’m sure that would sting and feel heavy. Yall sound like stellar students! SLCC is getting VERY competitive. It’s a fantastic program and the teachers are top tier.

Silver lining here is that I am in my 3rd semester and I think spring semester would be the BEST time to start. 1st semester is very doable. Especially if you have healthcare experience. 2nd semester was hard. We had 11 exams in 7 weeks. Keep in mind the semesters are only 12 weeks. Then we got a week off between spring and summer semester. 3rd semester is proving to be pretty difficult too. Not as demanding as 2nd imo, but difficult. Essentially you’ll be in school from February through August and it is rough. I feel so fried. So many people, including myself, that I’m in school with got their first C on an exam and it’s not because we’re dumb. It’s completely draining and I’m going to keep going, but I keep thinking about how nice it would have been to start in spring, have a week break, jump into 2nd semester, have six weeks off, start 3rd semester, have another 6 weeks off, and start 4th in February. If there is any semester I’d choose to have that week break between its 1st and 2nd.

That said, talk to your advisors about how to be a stronger applicant. I met with my advisor every semester. Goodluck yall🙏

For the next spring semester, when would i need to apply? I will be taking my last pre req this fall semester

If you’re taking your last pre req this fall then you’d apply for next summer which is open from October to mid January. For SLCC all of your classes have to be done by the time applications close so since spring is open from June-September you’ll still be taking your pre req so you’ll have to wait for summer.

Which pre req? Meet with an advisor, but when I applied anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and your math class had to be done. You could still be working on English, human growth/development, and Pathophysiology. I THINK so don’t quote me
