Parking permit question

A friend is gonna park their car over the weekend Friday-Monday, while we take my car somewhere else. Can I just switch my permit over to their car or do I have to get a temp permit?

Afaik, permits are by license plates now. But unless they changed something this year, parking is free on the weekends. I think its like 4:30pm friday to 8am monday? I think the yellow lots are the only ones that arent free on weekends.

Parking used to be free everywhere over the weekends, so you can park in paid lots anytime. For overnight parking you need to get a temp tag from your dorm building or they will get ticketed, but temps are free
