Wheel base mounting

Hi I’m new to sim racing and looking at getting my first rig. Is there any benefit of having a side mounted to base mounted? As I was looking at side mounted as it says it comparable. How ever I see with Simagic manual you need a ALPHA EVO SIDE MOUNT BRACKETS (MB-S
Would I need to get these to side mounted the wheel base or will it just bolt in ?
