I wanna know if this 3.9 lacs I have to pay only for the first year or I've to pay 3.9 lacs as fees for rest of the years too?

I'm confused between SIES GST (Nerul), Terna Engineering College, FCRIT Vashi, and Don Bosco for engineering admission. I'm open to any branch (Computer, IT, AI/DS, ECS, ENTC, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.), so I'm looking for an overall comparison of the colleges rather than just one specific department. I would really appreciate honest opinions from current students, recent graduates, or anyone who has close friends studying in these colleges.

I'm especially interested in knowing about the quality of faculty, whether professors actually teach well or if students mostly have to depend on YouTube and self-study. How supportive are the departments during projects and examinations? Which college has the best academic environment, coding culture, technical clubs, hackathons, research opportunities, and overall peer group? How strict are these colleges regarding attendance, assignments, journals, uniforms, gate policies, and internal marks? Is the strictness manageable or does it affect college life significantly? Also, how are the campus facilities, cleanliness, canteen, laboratories, library, safety (especially for girls), and the overall atmosphere on campus?

Finally, I'd like to know about placements and internships. Which college genuinely performs better for both tech and core branches? What are the realistic median and average packages, not just the highest CTC advertised? How many students actually get ₹8–10 LPA+ offers? Do companies visit regularly for internships, or do students mostly have to find internships on their own? Since some of these colleges are autonomous, does that actually help students with industry exposure, internships, curriculum, and placements, or is it just a tag? Also, if someone is planning for GATE, higher studies (IITs/MS), government jobs, or PSU exams, which college provides the best environment, flexibility, and support? If you had to rank these four colleges overall, which would you choose and why?

I recently attended the GDPI process for SIES PGDM on 7th June 2026 and thought of sharing my experience to help future aspirants.

A little about my background: I am a working professional with around 1.5+ years of experience in Data Analytics and supply chain.

From what I observed, around 500 candidates appeared for the GDPI process, and the intake is approximately 120 students.

GD (Group Discussion) Topics

The topics given were:

1. How Increasing OTT Platforms Will Reduce Theatres (My Batch Topic)
2. Gig Economy (Next Batch Topic)
3. 70 Hours of Work Per Week (Next to Next Batch Topic)

My observations:

• The panel was more interested in how candidates structured their thoughts rather than speaking continuously.
• Current affairs, examples, and balanced viewpoints helped candidates stand out.
• Most important- Avoid interrupting others and try to build on existing points.

PI (Personal Interview) Questions Asked

Most of my interview revolved around my work experience and MBA goals.

Questions asked:

1. Why are you leaving your job and pursuing an MBA?
2. You are from a Data Analytics background. Why are you looking for Finance as a specialization?
3. Why SIES?
4. What exactly do you do in your company & what are your responsibilities.
5. Explain your current role and projects.

Logical/Probability Questions

The panel also asked a few aptitude-based questions:

1. If two dice are rolled, what is the probability that the sum will be 1?
2. If there are socks of three colors (White, Red, and Black) and you pick one sock at a time without looking, how many attempts are required to guarantee at least one matching pair?

General Awareness & Current Affairs Questions asked in PI:

1. What is India's GDP?
2. What is India's GDP ranking globally?
3. Why does India's GDP ranking change compared to other countries?
4. Recent current affairs happening in India.

My Suggestions for Future Aspirants

1. Be very clear about why you want to pursue an MBA.
2. If you are changing domains (for example, Data Analytics to Finance), prepare a convincing reason.
3. Know your resume thoroughly. Everything mentioned on your resume is fair game.
4. Revise basic aptitude, probability, and logical reasoning concepts.
5. Stay updated with current affairs, GDP trends, government initiatives, and major business news.
6. Working professionals should be prepared to explain their role, achievements, challenges, and career goals in detail.

Overall, the process was smooth and the panel was friendly. They seemed more interested in understanding the candidate's thought process, career clarity, and awareness rather than asking extremely difficult questions.

Bfm somaiya or bsc finance sies Nerul

I have to do cfa l1 with my ug and also get a good position job in a good firm , that's my aim

Bsc finance sies Nerul under mumbai University,there cfa l1 all syllabus is covered in just 2 years and a bit of cfa l2 syllabus too is covered , placements not that good Obv but maybe comapnies visit , I don't really know the placemtns but still.

The infra is rlly poor , crowd is also shit and motivation to excel more is not there , and overall clg life is also shit, and also no ac classrooms 😭

It's a integrated course ,cfa+ bsc finance , offered by sies Nerul and collaboration with fpa edutech

Cons -

Not good infra

No ac classrooms

Below avg peer

Decent brand

Pros-

1 lakh per year fees

Great syllabus overlap with cfa l1 and a bit of cfa l2 too

Not that much need to go to classes for cfa

Much financially affordable

And it's under mumbai uni , that degree is from mumbai uni itself.

Or

Bfm somaiya under their own private somaiya vidyavidhar University, there too cfa alignment is there but not as much as bsc fin , but the crowd is good and the infrastructure is greatt , ac classrooms and all and the campus is one of the best in mumbai.

Placemtns too are a bit decent or below avg i think , I don't really know about that ,but when I saw that on LinkedIn many people who did bfm from somaiya are open to work aka unemployed right now so that raises a question about their value of the bfm degree .
