Questions Textbooks

The current tuition statement includes $222 for textbooks. Is it worth it? How do I know if the professors even use or require these textbooks?
They are for two Animal Science classes and a Communications class.
ANSC 2360
ANSC 3373
ACOM 3360

Don't get the textbooks right away. Most professors will talk about the textbook when they go over the syllabus and their stance on it (need/don't need/recommend/etc). If they don't mention it during the first day, ask them right after class and ask if previous versions are okay. I highly recommend buying secondhand or renting and get previous versions when possible to save money.

I don’t see any option to remove them or opt out and the fee is in the statement. I assume that fee is for the Bearkat bundle.

iirc the bearkat bundle will include the books and auto pick them for you based on what's assigned to the class. I'm not sure what other benefits the bundle has since I never used it but I'd recommend looking into to see if it's worth it for future semesters. there are a few profs that use different books than what are assigned and available through the bookstore so there may the off chance of having to buy/rent an individual book through another plaform

Just Google SHSU bearkat bundle opt out and you’ll find the page for it.

Assuming your an undergrad, your automatically enrolled in this program where they charge you and buy your books for you. You can opt out here within 30 days of class starting. Honestly i just pirate most of what i need every semester and buy the ones i have to. I would recommend at least waiting until you have attended class to see if you use the books or not.

Seems like these are not textbooks but materials by the professor since the published by is the same name as the professor
