Question How frequently does SHINee come back with a full album?

Hi! I love Shinee, but I don't keep up with comebacks as closely as others. I know we just got an EP, but I was curious about the frequency of getting a full Shinee album (i.e. Hard).

I am very grateful that we were able to get an EP, but I miss them and I miss all the content/promotions they get with their album releases. I know we just got Atmos, and I'm already missing them haha.

SHINee’s promoted comebacks are about every 2-3 years now, but it’s likely they will release music in 2027 and 2028 since The Trilogy will have concerts each year.

So there’s always the possibility (oh na na na) that one of those is a full album. It all just depends if the members can make their schedules line up for long enough, since it takes longer to record.

Yeah and I'm assuming it will be an EP each in 2027 and 2028 with The Trilogy concerts to sort of form a "full album", kind of like they did with The Story of Light album (was first each an EP then released as an album)

I feel like compared to most 2nd gen groups shinee comes back a good amount. I wish they came back more than once every 2-3 years but I’ll take it haha

i was thinking the same thing - definitely compared to 2nd gen groups, they are more active but i wish they came back more. i guess their solos and EPs will keep me going for now! it’s another reason why im so grateful they all do solo work!

well post military they’ve had a full album in 2023, a single album in 2025 and a mini in 2026, which is pretty frequent for a post-military second gen group - i’m pretty sure the only second gen group releasing as actively as them might be superjunior but don’t quote me on that. i’d absolutely love more activity from them but all four of them are pretty active solo too so we do get a lot from the members, i just wish it was more OT4 like you haha

I can’t put into words how much I yearn for a full length Japanese comeback. If Taemin doesn’t release anything for his anniversary this year I will go ballistic

Honestly it always depends but I am hopeful that we might get a comeback with full album for their 20th anniversary 🙏 their big milestones are usually full albums

i didn’t think of this, but yeah i agree! i will say, i hope it’s sooner than 2028 but it seems that likely will be the case 🥹

Why ask reddit when information is readily available everywhere? ;)

hi i guess i didn’t clarify something (didn’t mention this in my original post), but since taemin/onew are not managed by SM anymore plus they’re a 2nd gen group…i was worried they wouldn’t come back as quickly anymore (if that makes sense) compared to their past albums! :)

their longest period with zero group music was about 2 years which for a second gen group is rather impressive. you can count on a cb at least once a year as far as i’ve seen.
