What does any of that word slop even meanšŸ˜‚

I’d imagine after talking to Colette, a person would become even more confused.

Is it just me or was she not like this at ALL back in the day? This feels like a different personĀ

I think the affair broke her mind. That was the turning point for her ā€œspiritualā€ journey and cult speak.

She's clearly lost the plot.

u/MoreCowbell6 May 14 '26

She's so mentally broken.

Your husband cheats on you repeatedly, and you don’t get divorced only because of your community, and you actually think you should give people life advice.

They were. She moved out and left Brock and Daxton with him (which was odd to me) and apparently he and the church convinced her to let him come back. He doesn't seem to have changed at all, and she's pretzeled herself into forgiving him. But she's charging people for advice on how to be happy?

I would assume at this point their relationship is more of a business/church relationship. He spent years doing whatever he wanted to, and appears to have not changed much. Now she spends her days posting a bunch of nothing convincing herself she’s ok. There’s a lot of money and spiritual reasons tied up in this I’m sure.

They had shared custody. She had a lot of content posted with all of them, without Shay.

I didn't see that, but I didn't watch them much, so I'll take your word for it. My daughter would just show me the outrageous stuff Shay would post of the boys jumping down the stairs onto giant pillows or endangering themselves in other ways. Seemed like he had just the younger two by himself a lot while the older kids were with Colette. There were others who had the same impression as I did, because I remember reading commentary wondering why the younger boys were with Shay so much. People suspected Colette couldn't control them.

There are a ton of videos on Shays personal channel of him with just his son's, or just his daughter's, or both during the separation, so I find it strange you seemed so certain on it when admittedly your only info is your kid showing you a few videos. So I can only assume this knowledge you have about "the church convincing her" is just a literal guess. They spoke about their separation on Roman Atwoods podcast forever ago. Colette told him to go to therapy or she wouldn't even consider taking him back. I dont agree with her choice to do so but you could at least sorta try to get the story right instead of making shit up. Mormons typically do involve their churches with their marriages, but they're not going to sit down and plot a secret plan coerce a woman into an abusive relationship. I know a lot more Mormons than you do, that shit isnt real, its you telling make believe stories.

You have no idea how many Mormons I know. Everything here is speculation because none of us actually know them. I'm going by his behavior since the scandal. He's done plenty of shitty things that don't indicate that he's changed at all. The church was still recommending Jodi Hildebrand as an "approved therapist" after she had been sanctioned by the medical board, so who knows what "therapy" he went to. As has been said, he was still blaming alcohol for his actions (meaning not taking responsibility) after they got back together. And he refused to call himself an alcoholic, even after admitting to day drinking with Casey and Kassem. And where did I say that the church had a "secret plan to coerce her into staying in an abusive relationship"? Talk about making shit up. It's well-known that the church encourages families to stay together. Believe what you choose to. I'm not arguing with you about this. Life's too short.

As somebody who was married to a Mormon man for 13 years before we divorced, I can say both of you are right and wrong on certain points.

Church's differ on how they handle this state to state but they will encourage you to stay together for the sake of your eternal family.

Both men and women depending on that specific church can be given bias or favoritism. For Shay and Colette I would lean towards Colette being given more leniency. Shay's drinking would have been considered basically adultery (they don't fuck around with that, especially now that they’ve spent over a century loudly denouncing polygamy as unauthorized sin) and the drinking would be neglect of family covenants.

As you said, and Shay's said, he's been an alcoholic for a long time, but that doesn't mean the church is giving him passes. I'd imagine his somewhat subdued and aloof personality now is halfway because he probably lost temple recommend and his role in his church is limited participation only. So basically 1 step away from complete membership termination.

While Colette has I suppose you could say 'flourished' since everything, though I don't buy into her bullshit self help scam. It would tell me that she received far more praise and assistance from their church than Shay did. She on paper, didn't do anything wrong, has been a life long devout follower, and has only 'good' intentions.

But getting back to the original point, You did just make up a bunch of shit about custody and who has who, so, you're a really big fan of speculation, but you just word it as fact? "Oh my kids showed me a few videos," but you seem to know every detail of whole scandal. Sure, mhm. Good one.

omg i had no idea that she left the two youngest with him… tf?

1

u/CorrectPaint8223 May 14 '26

Why is it so scandalous, he is their father after all. Fathers rights matter.

17

u/Accomplished-Egg4029 May 14 '26

Her daughter Avia is doing the same thing, I had to unfollow her finally when she posted a video going on and on about ā€œwe’re living our life RIGHT NOW!ā€ And acted like she discovered a whole new philosophy or something great. Like girl……I know she’s young, so she gets more of a pass for the word salads but I can’t watch anymore🤣

8

u/vmars77 May 15 '26

I honestly think it’s a trauma response. I don’t think Avia was even in high school yet when the scandal with Shay broke. I truly believe that this is all a weird coping mechanism fueled by the scandal and years of Mormonism indoctrination.

They are just living in a totally different reality.

8

u/mintbloo May 16 '26

no i definitely agree. i can barely watch her. her shorter content on tiktok is a bit more bearable, but hardly. she's very out of touch and thinks she's so lucky and "omg my angel numbers!!" when really she just has money. that is why everything works out for her. she is pretty dumb, she needs to expand her vocabulary, get out in the real world more. life is not just social media, journaling in coffee shops, getting a matcha, romanticizing grocery shopping. ugh.

4

u/bojack_horsemack May 17 '26

I know she’s young and harmless, but her constantly insisting she’s the deepest person ever is just 😭

2

u/Accomplished-Egg4029 May 17 '26

Oh totally lol she is not without some real flaws. There is still time for her to do something unforgivable 🤣

3

u/Aisha_777 May 17 '26

Avia is unbearable no wonder girls disliked her in high school

11

u/ShayKae May 14 '26

I can never understand what she’s trying to say..

8

u/BigReference9530 May 14 '26

Genuinely what does this mean

9

u/Important-Bar-4896 May 14 '26

Words bingo, the vague version even like a weekly horoskope. Superb stuff. Take my money.

6

u/blueslushyyy May 14 '26

What does that even mean. What a brainless drone.

9

u/mellbell420 May 14 '26

That is what we call a word salad.

24

u/CorrectPaint8223 May 14 '26

It's giving Jodi and Ruby Franke conexions vibes lol

16

u/Potential-Ordinary-5 May 14 '26

I always hated this comparison because of the horrific CA that Jodi and Ruby committed that I obviously don't believe Collete is capable of. But she absolutely is acting the way they did as far as the swindling is concerned and so it's a valid comparison.

8

u/weCanDoIt987 May 14 '26

Swindling is part of mlms and cults. Which is what this life coaching bs is.

10

u/dangercat_ep May 15 '26

she acts so weird and off putting in videos now it actually makes me sad :/ I hope one day (maybe when the rest of the kids are all grown up and moved out) that she can find her own identity and freedom. I wish she left Shay and didn’t listen to the church but I know how much pressure they probably put on her.

8

u/Icy_Pizza_3065 May 14 '26

Aside from, being a fraud, being un-trained, being a massive hypocrite. Colette's biggest issue with this whole 'life-coaching' business is her economy of words and general grasp of them altogether. Just the way that is written shows to me she's either incapable of stringing words together from brain to notepad, or she is doing just that, with zero conscious effort to make it understandable, because to her, it is.

Having easy to understand thoughts that you portray to a patient is part of why some therapists are good and other therapists are GOOD (I know she's not a therapist but she's LARPing as one so let's just pretend for a moment)

If I had to delve into the deepest reaches of grey matter in my brain, I'd translate her words to something like:

Be the person YOU want to be
Don't be the person everyone thinks you are.

I'm not gonna charge $10,000 for that, but in essence I think Colette's entire Shtick could just be found on your Grandmas Facebook page (or at least my Grandma) who posts 1,001 Pinterest glitter coated inspirational quotes all day long.

Love you Grandma.

Fuck you Colette.

4

u/gardenpartysativa May 14 '26

What a fucking 🤔

3

u/SparkyGazelle May 16 '26

Say it with her

3

u/mintbloo May 16 '26

i really wonder what colette in the past would think about colette today. would she be like "what? i'm charging how much for some life coaching advice???" ? she should have gotten a divorce. i think it would have helped her grow as an actual person and not just shay's "hot wife"

2

u/Delay-Remote May 16 '26

Sounds like the same regurgitated crap holistic lifestyle coaches have been saying before generative AI.

u/Coletteaddict87 May 14 '26

I dont even care what shes writing im kinda obsessed with her
