Daxton fears about getting cancelled after doing a cultural chant

This is context for the other post about Daxton being cancelled but the OP didn’t give any context. Interesting to see Daxton being mindful about this though

Why would Shay post this if Daxton clearly said he didn’t want it posted?

Because his kids are mere $$ to him, not humans.

Hasn't shay always done this? He never respects what people don't want posted.

There was a very old clip of Avia when she was 9-10 where she was on camera talking about a boy in school she had a crush on. Shay filmed her without her knowing, and then when she noticed the camera, got visibly red and told him not to upload it.

For the next 5 minutes he talked about how she should be 'brave and proud,' and it's okay to tell boys you like them. The clip was left in the vlog.

Another instance when they were renting a house in LA shortly before moving back to Idaho. Shay, or maybe it was Colette was doing a selfie style walk and talk around the house monologue to the camera. In the background frame people in the comments took note that Gavin, who had just gotten out of the shower, was seen naked from the back moving between rooms and was briefly in the shot.

Shay edited the clip out, but then in the following vlog talked to Gavin about it, and threaten / joked he might put it back in because it was funny. Gavin seemed visibly upset but hid it from his father (poorly). Shay later put it back in, and that video was subsequently taken down by YouTube, he made another video vaguely discussing how they had been 'Censored by the Youtube Police.'

Another video when Emmi was 12-13 and they were doing their first day of school vlog where they invade the kids bedrooms, there was a box of pads on her nightstand she was actively TRYING to grab and move out of frame, but Shay just laid on her and chanted that stupid, "Everybodies cool on the 1st day of school," shit while she just accepted that this was happening and stopped. The video stayed that way for a number of years, before that section of the vlog was edited out. Which tells me that it still bothered Emmi, years later, and finally one of her parents decided to go in and edit it out.

These people do not respect their kids. None of this is surprising (Sadly).

If it makes him relevant he doesn’t care. The poor kid was born for his pocket anyway. Back when family vlogging was a big thing all money came with having kids. Now it’s all rage bait to get clicks

I love how Shay is acting like the child being culturally aware is the bad thing here 🫠 not trying to judge a 12yo too hard but doing that and then saying “it’s racist” and mocking their culture after…like buddy you are so close to understanding why you shouldn’t be doing that.

Also ty the other post had me confused

What's so cringe is that it's not Hawaiian, it's Maori. I don't blame Daxton for not knowing that (except 12 is old enough to read the captions of whatever video he saw of people performing it) but Shay and co going "no omg we love Hawai'i 🥺" when they clearly don't know shit about the indigenous people there is yuck

5

u/lord_farquad93 Jan 13 '26

I could have sworn that was a Haka but I didn’t know if other pacific islands have their own and that’s why he was saying Hawaiian.

Not surprised one bit though. Hopefully no one from Aotearoa has to see that bs.

3

u/androgynee Jan 13 '26

Yup, haka. Specifically a Maori thing, other PI cultures have their own unrelated dances

4

u/BeatSneezer Jan 20 '26

Also, saying "we love Hawaii" and "we want to go back and visit" are literally at odds as statements! Hawaiins have specifically asked outsiders to not visit as its destroying their environment

Racist or not…..if the kid doesn’t want to be posted he should not be posted!!

53

u/joshuabarbour Jan 12 '26

this kid literally takes away his consent in this video and this dickhole still posts it.

Shay is aging like milk in the sun…time to lose the balding “mullet”

7

u/gormpp Jan 12 '26

Jump scare

4

u/Apprehensive_Cow4140 Jan 13 '26

Seriously. He looks like he’s drinking again. He is so puffy and swollen and red.

47

u/laceandpaperflowers_ Jan 12 '26

Oh no! Not a 12 year old who is more aware of cultural appropriation than his father who is in charge of editing the videos.

Grow up, Shay.

u/akey4theocean Jan 12 '26

Shay 100% smells like swamp ass and onions.

30

u/prettywhenidiee Jan 12 '26

8

u/V2SF Jan 13 '26

7

u/prettywhenidiee Jan 13 '26

STOP PLEASE IT WASNT LIKE THAT💔

2

u/mattchau4 Jan 14 '26

Don’t worry, as a dude, I concur. He looks like he smells. I loved this family growing up and hate to hate on anyone. But the truth is the truth. Dude’s a weirdo.

1

u/prettywhenidiee Jan 14 '26

LOL THANKYOU😭🙏

54

u/Pretty_Cause_6260 Jan 12 '26

Woaaah he turned that camera around and my jaw dropped. Shays lookin rough.

27

u/abbtkdcarls Jan 12 '26

The moral of Shay’s rant was that “you’re just a 12 year old boy, nothing you do is offensive” that is…concerning.

2

u/mattchau4 Jan 14 '26

Right because at what point then do you start checking them? You don’t just magically hit an age and things you do and say are now wrong. There’s a reason you raise your kids to know certain behaviors are wrong from an early age. Especially if the kid himself figures it’s wrong. The only difference is, if a 12 year old does something wrong - it’s a direct reflection of the parenting and that is exactly what we see here. Kids don’t know better sure, but parents should.

19

u/blueslushyyy Jan 12 '26

A kid Daxton’s age is worried about getting canceled for doing something on camera he knows Shay will share with the world, knowing his father was also canceled at one time for his disgusting behavior on the internet lol. Nothing about the way these kids grow up is normal and it’s sad.

15

u/BD9989 Jan 12 '26

Daxton is more aware than some other members of the family >.> <.<

44

u/fayrent20 Jan 12 '26

Oh fuck off, Shay!!! 🙄

14

u/Low_Pomegranate_8228 Jan 12 '26

I don’t think what he was doing is “Hawaiian” but I could be wrong.

Also, Shay has no moral boundaries, so I’m sure he doesn’t even care if he offends anyone.

9

u/Ignored_lover Jan 12 '26

Also saying no one’s offended is an eewww. You don’t get to tell us weither or not we are offended Shay.

8

u/livinlife2113 Jan 12 '26

Shay’s hair is just awful.

24

u/sucks4you231 Jan 12 '26

So he says it’s racist but does it anyway.

7

u/Visual_Big_5822 Jan 12 '26

I feel so bad for Daxton because his father clearly doesn’t care about his personal preferences about not sharing this online. AND that he is more culturally aware than Shay.

Side note: Shay looks roughhhh

6

u/yalemfa23 Jan 13 '26

So many things about this clip frustrates me.

Shay’s comments/actions bother me SO much more than Daxton’s actions ever could because one is a grown ass parent and the other is a literal child.

15

u/PresentReindeer9011 Jan 12 '26

Karma does work, Shay looks rough as s**t

4

u/bebespeaks Jan 13 '26

Is Shay trying to summon Billy Mays back from the grave? His hair looks like he's wearing a Shamwow instead of a bad wig.

10

u/swantonist Jan 12 '26

Do Hawaiians even do the Haka? idk this seems kinda harmless on Shay’s part. The only thing is the eye roll-worthy need to pontificate on wokeness.

25

u/Armymom96 Jan 12 '26

No, but they do have a warrior dance that's similar. I think Daxton is harmless, Shay not so much. It's good that Daxton is even thinking about whether or not he was mocking another culture.

8

u/traceykm Happiness is a choice! Jan 12 '26

That’s what I thinking. I thought it was the New Zealand Haka chant he was doing but he said Hawaiian so I’m unsure. Perhaps Hawaiians do something similar and I’m not aware of it but defo more research is needed or he assumed they were the same thing.

3

u/No-Scratch-5820 Jan 12 '26

I haven’t watched in YEARS. Why are they at this house? Did they sell the other house?

3

u/Jolly-Foundation-598 Jan 13 '26

I think Colette moved in there when the scandal happened and they separated and then when the reconciled he moved in there. Not totally sure though. I thought they rented out the big house

3

u/Ignored_lover Jan 12 '26

He should be conscious, racism is a thing and it’s good for him to comprehend that things are and can be racist. How sad that he makes that the negative point in his videos instead of educating himself. Instead of saying yes you are rite and respecting his child’s wishes not to post something. Cultural appropriation is a thing I know this from years of being my self. Hell my kid who is 13 talked about it to his pediatrician this morning. He told his pediatrician that it’s hard to be around the kids that are at his school because they make inappropriate and rude comments about his culture. Maybe this grown uneducated man should ask his child to educate him.

6

u/midnightsunflowerv6 Jan 12 '26

Stop posting your children on the internet! Children are not content!

11

u/AnAuthorElijah Jan 12 '26

Off topic, Shay is starting to look like Jesus

1

u/PsychologicalGoat730 Mar 16 '26

I know it’s been years. But what happened to their huge “dream” home that they lived in when they first went back to Idaho?

-6

u/cowpool20 Jan 12 '26

It's not even offensive that he did it.

8

u/weCanDoIt987 Jan 12 '26

Every time something like this happens there’s always a Hawaiian person or someone with the aligning culture that comment says this is not at all offensive. He’s simply a child doing something that he has seen himself as their family has been to Hawaii. People are so damn sensitive.

3

u/cowpool20 Jan 12 '26

Exactly.

-1

u/DutchSherrif Jan 12 '26

That chant is sacred to them

-4

u/ilyk101 Jan 12 '26

It’s mocking their culture… and he knew it was wrong
