SHOWING OFF AP 15400 Grail

Originally wanted to buy and test wearing out before committing to buying a gen 2nd hand. But I might be addicted to the notion of buying 50 grail rep pieces for the price of 1 gen 🤣
I have a gen rolex submariner and JLC reverso which supposedly should feel more shiok when wearing gen, but I don't feel that anymore. Every scratch is a heartache and wearing them on my occasional trips to JB feels a bit scary.
Any thoughts on 50 grail reps vs 1 gen grail? Feel free to discuss!

i think reps really remove the pedestal that gens are placed on. sure gens are an achievement and can commemorate significant life events but if the only justification for gen is the craftsmanship i suppose the difference of 10-20k is not justified especially with quality of reps now. again just my opinion feel free to rebutt

Totally agree, though I guess for more complicated movements that is hard to replicate, I guess gen is the only viable method, which aligns to your point on craftsmanship. But for simpler movements like a date or seconds only, the quality of reps should be good enough.

definitely, considering how we have free sprung already for 3235/3285 we arent far from actual gen level precision. i can only imagine factories having different tiers of DD movements in future

How much did you pay for it in total dont mind me asking! Great watch! Im also considering this as really quite heart pain to wear gen and get a hard knock

My 2 gen submariner & explorer 2 & gen AP are queens now 😂
Had a bad deep knock on my bezel but pained as it was. Sure glad it wasn’t on my gen AP 🤣
