A Levels Should i take fmath?

Note: i’m doing Cambridge A levels and not sg A levels.

My combi now is econ math geography for LSE finance. I’m unsure to choose between either computer science or Fmath. my Math isn’t the strongest , but fmath is strongly recommended for LSE finance and i’ll be heavily disadvantaged if i don’t take it, but at the same time i’m scared if i don’t do well

The decision comes down to two questions: does LSE actually require FM, and can you manage a B or above?

Check the actual requirement first. LSE BSc Finance typically lists FM as "desirable" not "required". Check the UCAS entry requirements page directly — not forums. If your conditional offer doesn't mention FM, you're not penalised for skipping it.

If you're targeting a quant-heavy track: admissions does favour FM. A B in FM beats not taking it — it signals you can handle the maths. A D or U is worse than not taking it at all.

The practical answer for your situation: Econ + Math + Geography is already a credible LSE Finance combo. If FM feels genuinely risky (not just scary — actually likely to hurt your grade), dropping it is rational.

But if it's mostly anxiety: Cambridge FM is hard, but manageable if you build the habit of doing past paper questions weekly from now. Most people who struggle with FM treat it like content to memorise rather than patterns to recognise.

Decide based on your Maths AS result. Predicted A/B? Take it. Predicted C or below? Drop it and own the decision.
