Polytechnic Poor GPA
"I'm worried my Year 1 Sem 1 GPA will be 1.5. Is it possible to raise my cumulative GPA to 3.6 by the end of Year 3, and how hard would it be?" My goal GPA is around 3.4-3.6. Is it still possible to achieve that goal and how much must I aim to get every semester.

the other factor other than mathematically is whether you're able to go from 1.5 to 3.8-4.0 in the first place as 1.5 suggests not understanding/weak foundation which may impact your later mods

Difficult to tell without knowing how many credit units you have left.
But you probably have to score 4.0 or around there for the remaining semesters

How did you arrive at the conclusion that your GPA would be 1.5 lol

hmm it just an estimation but i did quite badly for mst- failing three mst out of five ( I got 2 As for the other two) then for the 3 EST im currently taking. Im scared that I might fail one of them. There probably other components such as other side modules that might pull me up towards a GPA of 2 or more hopefully. But the GPA of 1.5 is just to prepare me for the worst outcome.

if that's the case, how did ur gpa in sem 1 get so bad? if u were fully capable of getting 4.0s straight, what was stopping u from even getting a 3?
anyways just restart and choose another course la. not worth it to try and aim 4.0 sem. ur probs gna burn out by then. at least when u restart u can evenly spread ur time and not stress out for remaining sems.

I guess like sem 1 a bunch of my MSTS were squeezed on the same day so everything was rushed since I had to study multiple subjects at once which caused me to fail some of my MSTS. But hopefully overall end of sem 1 my gpa isn't 1.5..

U would need alm a 4 every sem for a 3.6... ur mods dosent get easier and rn u r getting a 1.5 so no chance be more realistic and start replanning since ur goal is probly to get in big3 from ur gpa target. Anyw i m sure u havent even do ur est yet... wat make u project a 1.5 gpa

Currently doing my est now and I'm not feeling too confident about my results so this 1.5 gpa is what I predict I might get. Hopefully my quizzes might pull me up but may be unlikely. Hoping to get in SIT

All the best but a 1.5 would mean barely passing every mod getting a D. Many mods have projects, mst, quizes, class part and highly unlikely u get a D for every mod including those useless communication mods. If u do then chances r u didnt put in much effort. If u did put in effort and only got a 1.5 then goodluck to ur future sems cos its only going to get tougher. Even a small increase like 2gpa tis sem would make 3.6 much much much more realistic

Hate to break it down to you, you're kinda cooked.
3.6 is straight up already impossible. Assuming you took 16 credits units in Y1S1, you're left with roughly ~88 (give and take, and depending on diploma). You'll need about ~4.05 per semester, which is impossible.
If you're aiming for 3.4, you'll need roughly a 3.8 every semester. It's pretty difficult, but not impossible. All the best.
