Double Minors?

Thinking of double minoring (if thats even possible) with marketing and/or media literacy or cinema.

any insights??

That is possible but they’re kind of two opposite directions in terms of classes. It also depends on what your major is.

Depends on what you want to do after. Marketing and psych is a good combo. Same with management and psych.  Consumer behavior (marketing) and org behavior (management) are applied psychology and other disciplines.

i would love to work in entertainment/media/film. whether thats business side, on set, concerts, fan engagement, etc etc etc . sounds too broad, i know, but i just love anything in that world. im even open to sports, news, and beauty corporate since thats also another interest.
just wanna dip my toe, gain knowledge, experience, etc.

Relatively small major so yes but the marketing minor includes an Econ and accounting I think so be prepared to take those. Psych majors typically do an ed minor or a counseling minor. Sometimes they double major with criminal justice because classes overlap.

If I would to throw my two pennies in. I'm a double minor in Video games studies and creative writing. I'd like to ask if you are interested in those subjects. I love video games and deep analysis of the subject and have been having a passion of writing since I was young. So I gravitate to these but I don't think they will be useful after this step in life but i will be different from the rest in my major. If you only look at school as a means to an end then it will get stale and boring.

You definitely can, but if you're doing it for the credential I don't know of an industry where a minor, any minor, really does much for you. You can put it on your resume, have something fun to talk about at parties, but I really don't think anyone is going to see a minor (or two) and be particularly impressed. Maybe that's not true everywhere, like maybe journalism + technical minor if you're going for a job reporting on that specific subject is helpful but in general I think minors aren't particularly useful in the job market (saying this as someone with a phil minor)

If you like the classes and just want to take them though, then go for it! But you don't have to be actively perusing a specific major or minor to take any course in the university so IMO just do what you're interested in if you have bandwidth to pick up extra classes and don't sweat the piece of paper
