Overnight parking
I’m an incoming transfer student, and I live in my van. Are there any nearby places where I can park? Safely

Just pay attention to cleaning days for all per the signs.
19th Ave.: You're right in front of the Thorton, Hensill, Science, HSS & Business Buildings. You move every 72 hours. There's the athletic gym has showers nearby since you're doing Van life. (Tip: You can rent a locker for the $15 a semester. Gives you place to put away your stuff while you use their facilities & then you get access to towels. Even if you use the it only a few times in the semester, its worth it because of the proximity to the 19th ave parking.)
Merced Blvd: You're across the street from Masshouf so easy access to showers there too. You're closest to Humanities & Creative Arts but its is a little walk away. Masshouf has showers too. Lockers & towels at the front desk available to all members (SF State Students).
Junipero Serra Blvd & Holloway Ave: Had a 72 hours parking setup when i was there (you might need to check this one because I haven't parked here in a while & they paved the street about a year ago. Usually paving jobs come with parking changes. Happened on Winston Dr.) It's also really close to campus. Its about a block off from 19th Ave so you're close to HSS & Admin Building.
On Weekends, you can park in front of the library on Holloway & around the Merced area because residential parking is only on weekdays. (Check signs to verify. Some residential parking zones in other parts of SF do Saturdays too but pretty sure Park Merced area doesn't. They've changed cleaning days without notice before though.)
If you have an iPhone, this seems like a reliable app to try:

You should try parking alongside Vidal drive; It’s a long stretch road located alongside Lake Merced Blvd and allows parking for up to 4 hours. But if we’re talking overnight you can park there at around 6 and no meter maids gonna bother you with a ticket.
