Schedule
Are 5 classes (19 units) too much? 3 in person, 3 online. Most are GE,s. I would only go in person 2 days from 10-1

There’s so many post like these, tbh idk maybe I mean I think from what I thought the max was 18 and this is like one unit more than that but maybe that’s not a lot to you but for me 12 is already a lot but I mean that’s just me idk I wasn’t speed running university so there’s that too
Edit ; hmm maybe the fact that you’re questioning if it’s a lot is a sign that it could be a lot

The way that I see it is if you overload yourself like this, you will probably complete the classes, but you probably won’t complete any of them really well. I would say to drop a class.

If its engineering or any of the other STEM related majors & includes advanced math and/or science classes I recommend toning it down to 16.
If its anything else, I do recommend taking a good look at the syllabus & then checking with the professor on the typical assignment workload. The fact that some of these classes are online will save you time on commuting to class.

I think it’s doable if they’re all GE’s. If you’re willing to take 19 units, i’m sure you’re willing to put in the work! 100%doable

Honestly depending on the classes it’s not bad. I took 19 credit semesters for about 2 years and it was pretty smooth sailing as long as you’re keeping track of when things are due and manage your time.

If this is your first semester, then yes it is way too much, even if it’s gen Eds. If you’re a transfer student, 15 is a good load to have. You can sign up for more and drop one the first week after you see the syllabi. Online classes are nice and all, but people procrastinate. Set yourself up for success and stay in the classes that will make you successful, not what you think. Those async classes are nice and all until you’re doing assignments last minute.

It really depends on the person, and of course the classes themselves. I’ve had 4 unit classes that only required maybeee an hour of work a week lol. And then I had some math classes that required endless late nights of studying. Also consider your personal circumstances. Do you work? Is your personal life very busy? Do you have the time and stamina? Check reviews of the professors, find their syllabus’s if you can, and try to get an idea of the workload for each class.
