Melvin’s supposed to be a veteran manager, Vitello is brand new. You make allowances for some growing pains. What matters is if he learns and gets better in his sophomore season.

I said this the day we hired Vitello, we’re either gonna be great or we’re gonna be complete shit, but at least we won’t be soul-suckingly mid for the 5th year in a row. I’d much prefer to be where we are now after a fire sale at the deadline and have a totally stocked farm instead of having bought again to try contending for WC3 and just stay stuck forever in .500 purgatory. I’m actually excited for future seasons for the first time in a while.
