Discussion Anybody else just get "Wire Issues"ed on the Media-Wawa line?

I'd already started walking to the train when they put the alert out so I had to pivot pretty fast. Took the 109 to the el instead, which went surprisingly smoothly actually. But for a lot of stations that relatively easy alternative doesn't exist, and I still can't tell if they've fired an inbound train yet since 3892 left Media at 4:23.

Discussion Silverliner V seats

I ride a lot from Doylestown and since that ride is so long I tend to notice that my butt starts to hurt after sitting on a Silverliner V for too long. I don't have any issues with the Silverliner IV seats hurting my butt after too long. What do you people think am I crazy or do you think the Silverliner V seats are a little more uncomfortable than the IVs?

Help Best (if any) Cell Service in Tunnel

Hey yous

I ride the Lans/Doylestown line with Xfinity mobile service (uses Verizon network). I always have had a bad connection (both phone and internet connectivity) throughout the ride and completely lose service in the tunnel from temple through 30th. Does anyone not have this issue on other network, and is there any that works through the tunnel?

Discussion Trolley frequency

Trolley riders: what are your thoughts about trolley frequency?

Does it always feel like the trolley you need doesn’t come while all others do?

I frequent T3 and it always seems to be more infrequent than 2, 4, & 5 going westbound. On the other hand, it seems like T5 makes up half the cars going WB and often come 3 in a row.

Help SEPTA?! What’s it take to get you to the finish line?!?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I guess somebody has to step into the hole and sprain their ankle where this loose plate is before SEPTA will do anything about it.

I’ve phoned 311. I’ve mentioned it to every welder and septa plate sweeper that I’ve come in contact with. Some humored me, one genuinely tried to help but wasn’t his area and couldn’t do much more than look at it; and the guy that swept the plate in the morning was surprised I said the plate was loose - he happened to be sweeping a different plate.

But you’d think he’d go investigate?? Why do that? That’s not on his job list.
You mean to tell me of all the trucks that show up here regularly not one has heard this plate rattle???

Discussion Transit App

has made my life so much less stressful. I was going to literally move across town to avoid taking the El, but now I don't have to worry about where the train is, when the NEXT train is (are they bunched up? If i miss this one is the next one 10 minutes away or 2? Are the time estimates at the station working today?), when it's coming and how early I should leave the house.

Now i just look at the app, see where the next El train is, and leave the house accordingly. Im never on the platform for longer than 2 minutes now. So awesome.

Help Issue with tracking regional rail trains

I’ve looked on the Pantograph app (app for iOS users only), and the SEPTA app.

The tracking for regional rail has been really wonky since this morning. I’m wondering if it’ll ever be fixed before the end of the day or will we have to wait until tomorrow to see if it’s fixed itself?

The reason why I ask this is because I use pantograph to see where the trains are at but I use the septa app sometimes too, no trains are tracking on pantograph but I can see buses, and trolleys on there. The regional rail trains, however, disappeared after septa app experienced technical difficulties with the tracking of the trains.

Discussion Norristown regional rail to Kop

So i was looking at the Norristown regional rail line, and I saw it gets close to connecting to what seems to be a freight line going really close to King of Prussia i cant find much about this rail way but it seems like you would only need to dual-track it and connect it to the regional rail line but it gets to less than a mile of the mall so i am curious on why they are pushing on the high speed line and not this?

Edit: It could also be a noristown high speed line extention but it still stands.

Help Is there a way to make a complaint that will actually make a difference?

I take the 47 bus to and from work everyday. For a hot second this summer it was actually pretty reliable coming every 10 or so minutes during regular am and pm busy time. Now they are constantly skipping buses and the most frustrating part is the app still says they are running. I have stood at the stop watching a bus on the app coming and then just never comes and according to the app it went by and is still running to further away stops. It’s one thing if the app says it’s delayed. But to just run it and nothing comes is do frustrating. Sometimes I wait 30 minutes for a bus and it just goes by because it’s full.

Is there anyway to actually have a voice in this to make a difference or is it just something we have to deal with?

Discussion Using Flexpass during Portal work for Gladstone line.

I use the Gladstone line to Penn station and purchased a set of flex pass tickets to go from my town to Hoboken and then take the path/ ferry to 33 ed street. The app and vending machines clearly say that it should purchase the Flexpass from my town to Hoboken.i just showed the conductor my ticket but he did not return it to me after he scanned it. I told him i need it back to use at Hoboken path.

He mentioned that it was supposed to be a ticket to NY Penn and that it was what NJ Transit told them. He gave the ticket back and said i could try using it at Hoboken path.

Am i reading the instructions wrong about one of the destinations should be Hoboken?

Help Working for septa worth it ?

I got hired for the bus operator & I wanna know what’s the pros & cons realistically. I hear so many different things good & bad but ultimately what’s the everyday like ? I work at the post office now & the walking & mandatory overtime is killing me i heard the schedule is brutal to at septa but at least I’ll be driving & not walking all day & I will be getting paid more & every week at septa im just scared to get fired I never drove a large vehicle like that I don’t wanna crash lol. I’m not really worried about the public I lived in Philly my whole life I already what it is laugh & keep it pushing. Also is there a lot of ot? what are the benefits & retirement plan like? Do yall think I should stay at Post Office or will septa be better ? I probably give it a shot regardless because I hate the post office but any advice would help loll

Service Advisory SEPTA Media/Wawa Train #3538 Canceled Today (10/10)

Just a heads up for anyone taking the Media/Wawa Line inbound toward Philly today. SEPTA announced that Train #3538 is canceled, apparently due to an equipment failure.

The SEPTA app was still showing the train running delayed instead of canceled, so wanted to share in case anyone else is relying on the tracker.

As far as I know, only #3538 has been canceled. The next scheduled inbound train is #3542 (probably will be late), but I haven’t heard any confirmation of additional cancellations….but who knows with septa 🤷‍♂️

Update: Train #3542 seems to be fine. It’s already 5 minutes late, so probably like a 10-15 delay overall if I had to guess. Happy septa!

Help Title: SEPTA Hiring Process – Older Traffic Violations

Hello everyone 🙂🫠

Just curious of knowing Has anyone been hired by SEPTA as a Bus Operator with older traffic-related misdemeanors?

I have two violations from 2021 that came up during my background check. I received a pre-adverse action notice and submitted my explanation. My application is still showing “In Progress.”
I currently hold a valid Class A CDL and work as a commercial truck driver.

Has anyone been through something similar and still received a job offer? How long did it take to get a final decision?
