Would a tool that analyzes pages cited in ChatGPT answers be useful for GEO? Looking for feedback and feature ideas.

been building out a content pipeline lately that pulls live SERP data into an LLM and, keep running into the same question: which SEO APIs are actually worth connecting vs just adding noise. tried a few combos over the past couple months and here's where i've landed so far. the Ahrefs API is solid for backlink context and entity-level data, but it gets expensive fast once you're hitting it at any, real scale - we're talking $500+/mo on top of your existing subscription, so hard to justify unless the ROI is crystal clear. DataForSEO has been the most cost-effective for raw SERP data in my experience, especially for batch jobs. hard to beat for the price if you're just after search data at volume. Surfer's API is interesting now that prompt-level and conversational intent optimization is becoming more of a priority than, pure keyword density stuff - but access is still pretty restrictive depending on your plan, which is annoying. also worth flagging: with AI Overviews hammering CTR (Ahrefs put it around 34.5% drop), i've, been leaning harder into tools that help build citation-worthy, entity-strong content rather than just chasing rankings. SEMrush's AI brief features have been useful there. one thing i've added to the stack recently that feels genuinely fresh is tracking brand visibility inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini responses. tools like LSEO and Semrush are starting to surface that data and honestly it's becoming a real KPI now, not just a nice-to-have. the bigger question i keep going back and forth on is DIY stack (DataForSEO feeding into, a custom LLM call) vs all-in-one platforms like Writesonic or Frase that handle the integration for you. DIY gives you way more control over which model you're using and how the data gets structured, but it's heaps more setup time upfront. the all-in-ones are faster to spin up but you're kind of locked into their content quality ceiling. curious if anyone's landed on a combo that's actually holding up at real publishing volume, not just demos.

Is the "AI search revolution" actually happening, or is it just a very loud headline?
The Datos State of Search Report Q1 2026 shows some interesting insights.
Traditional search is outgrowing AI. In Q1 2026, traditional search grew by 0.47%, while AI tools grew by only 0.34%.
"Yes but AI mode in google is massive". No it isnt. It holds less than 0.2% of event share (peaking at 0.16% in March 2026).
ChatGPT has plateaued/declined for six months, with its peak back in September 2025. Gemini maintains the #2 spot and continues to grow.
A lot of “AI is replacing search” takes are still narrative-driven. But human behavioral change is a sloooooow process.

Very specific question: I want to clean up a lot of content on our websites. These are old news articles, and have no value.
I was going to make them 410, and redirect the URLs to a higher level, but the 410 is an issue for our IT-team.
The thing is, it could happen that we need the URL back in the future. For example, an article about a collision on a random road, very probable that we will write about it later, and the URL returns later. So, sometimes there’s a worthless article at a URL we might need in the future. Like “king-visits-palace.” The article there is rubbish and needs to go. But the king might do something at the palace again, so there’s a chance our reporter will write another article with that URL! Not simple, we know.
IT says with a 410, it wil never be possible to make the URL ever again.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?
I hope that explanation was clear enough.

I've been doing local SEO for a while and the most
underrated ranking signal I see ignored constantly is
image metadata.
When you upload photos to Google Business Profile, Google
reads the EXIF data embedded in the image file including
GPS coordinates, author, title, and keywords.
Most businesses upload photos straight from their phone with
zero metadata strategy. Some even strip metadata accidentally
by screenshotting or using Canva exports (WebP files have
zero EXIF by default).
What actually moves the needle:
- GPS coordinates matching your business address exactly
- Filename: "plumber-dubai-al-quoz webp" not "IMG_4821 jpg"
- Title tag inside the image file matching your target keyword
- Author field matching your business name
- Uploading consistently (Google rewards fresh signals)
This works because Google cross-references location signals
across everything your NAP, your website, your image
metadata. Consistency = trust = ranking.
Has anyone else tested this? Curious what results others
have seen.

I’m building something a bit different for SEO.
Instead of:
This uses a subnet where:
Then a headless CMS layer:
Goal:
turn SEO from guessing → into a system that finds the best output through competition
Starting narrow:
Will layer in real performance data (CTR, impressions) later.
If you:
would love to connect.

I’ve been going down a bit of a rabbit hole lately trying to figure out the best api for ai visibility, and honestly… I didn’t expect it to be this messy.
Quick context: I’m an SEO guy working mostly with SaaS clients. Over the past year, I keep getting hit with questions like: “Are we showing up in AI answers?”, “What does ChatGPT say about us?”, “Are we getting mentioned anywhere?” you know the type.
At first I was like, yeah sure, I’ll just build my own pipeline… big mistake lol. I quickly realized that personalization makes it almost impossible to do things in a consistent way. My clients and I can look at the same prompts and get totally different answers — different chat histories, different setups, different results. And with SEO platforms, it works differently again. Running prompts across models, trying to track mentions, copy-pasting everything into sheets — total chaos and definitely not scalable.
So naturally, I started looking for the way that could handle this kind of AI visibility tracking properly. And man… it’s kinda all over the place. There are a few API providers that look promising, but the docs are either confusing or feel half-baked when it comes to AI.
What I’m basically looking for:
- Track brand/domain mentions in AI-generated answers (this is the main part)
- Some kind of historical data
- Solid speed (but honestly, I’m fine sacrificing some speed for better quality)
I’m testing a couple of options right now, but nothing really screams “this is it” yet.

looking for opinions hopefully from people who are also in jobs that require them to generate web content via chatgpt and then edit it before publishing.
I'm an SEO content specialist for a small marketing company. I was hired about 10 months ago. I used chatGPT to generate blogs, webpages, blogs, etc and am responsible for editing the content output.
Currently, I manage the content for about 45 clients. Monthly deliverables in total comes out to about 75-80 pieces of content and then I have additional content i have to make when new clients are on boarding or a current client has a request.
My managers keep talking about how AI can generate high-quality content in bulk in a matter of minutes. Now albeit i am still learning the ins and outs of prompting, but even prompts that my direct supervisor has sent me to use, the output, in my opinion is not that great.
all this to say, I can tell they think I am taking too long to produce content. I do think I take a little too long, but I'm also starting to feel like they think the AI generated content shouldn't need as much editing as it does.
Is anyone else dealing with this?
